Eliana's POV~
I awoke to the alarm on my phone. I sat up in my bed, wide awake. I gently pulled back my dark purple curtains and saw that it was still pitch black outside. I purposely set my alarm for ten minutes before I actually need to get up in order to get to school on time, that way I had a few minutes to sit around and allow myself to fully wake up before getting up and ready for the day.
I pulled my soft down-comforter off of my body and swung my legs over the side of the bed and touched my toes to the chilling hardwood floor. It didn't take long for me to get dressed in some black leggings and a maroon t-shirt with a light, navy blue hoodie to protect me from the frigid January air. I slipped on some comfortable vans and straightened my hair, pinning it out of my face with a couple of bobby pins and a bit of hairspray.
Next I added a light coat of foundation and some baby pink lipstick. I'm not the most popular girl in 11th grade but I don't need to be the center of anyone's attention and I have my own group of friends. Plus I don't want to get close to very many people. Not after what happened with Lacey.
Lacey was my best friend for so long and then all of the sudden, she just turned on me. She ignored me and made me feel isolated and alone for the remainder of 8th grade and all of my Freshmen year. Eventually she moved, and I got a new group of friends. I love them and all, but they all have a boyfriend and I don't. I'm not complaining because I'm sparing myself the drama, but they all look so happy and I want someone to hold me like that too.
But I've never told that to anyone,so I find it best just to go ahead and keep things the way they are for now I guess. When I got downstairs, I was about to get a granola bar out of the pantry when a pair of bright, white headlights shined brightly through the kitchen window, causing me to squint my eyes and cringe in a very unattractive manner. I saw my friends all in the car, waving and motioning for me to get in with them. I put the granola bar back down and grabbed my backpack. I then headed out the door and into Abby's silver Chrysler.
