Walking down the busy streets of Perth, Western Australia, I can't help but feel a sense of self-worth. I have an awesome job of managing big time actors, great friends and family and an amazing fiancé. I felt like skipping down Murray St, but then people would think I'm a little nuts. And it felt kinda cliché. So I settled for a brisk walk.
It was a Wednesday, the worst day of the week in my opinion, but I tried not to think too negatively because, about 100 metres away was Mitch, standing under the shade of a tree. His left foot was tapping along to the busker's sweet music and I could see him subtly singing along. He just couldn't help himself, my Mitch. His curly golden hair was waving slightly in the breeze and the small amount of afternoon sunlight coming in through the trees glistened off the product he uses in his hair to try and contain it. He looked like an angel waiting for the next descendant.
He looked up as I neared, and a grin broke out onto his face.
"Hey! My girl. Oh, my beautiful girl," He whispered into my hair as he pulled me into a tight hug.
"Hey honey. How was work?" I pulled away and gave him a quick kiss. I could see the hurt in his eyes but I blew it off, knowing it was just him being dramatic. He recovered himself and stood up to his full height of 6 foot. He towered over my measly effort of 5 foot 4.
"Yeah work was good. How about you, babe?" He grabbed my hand and pulled me along towards the car park behind his work.
"You'll never believe who came into work today, Mitch! Oh my God, it was the best thing that ever happened, I swear to you," I babbled excitedly and Mitch continued to grin like a child with a lollipop.
"Oh who, my darling?" I frowned. He had to ruin it.
"Mitch, don't call me darling. Please."
"Right, right. Sorry. Who came into work?" He looked genuinely sorry so I continued.
"Tom! Oh my, he walked in and asked for a new agent, because you know how he moved here right? Yeah, anyway I was just so thrilled because I had just finished with Hugh and so I was so happy to be assigned to Tom. Isn't this great?" I bounced up and down happily.
"Wait, wait. Hiddleston?" Mitch stopped in his tracks and raised an eyebrow at me. "No, silly. Tom Cruise." I felt a stab of pain in my heart as Mitch said his name but I smiled up at him anyway. Mitch nodded once and grabbed my hand again. We walked towards his Mercedes and I hopped in shot gun as he unlocked the black car. We continued to talk as he drove us home.
