The next day castle joined beckett at the hospital. When they arrived lane was their talking to espo. When castle and beckett walked into the room espo said it's party time now castles here. Beckett sarcastically rolled her eyes then her and lanie started talking. A little later beckett and lanie left for work but castle stayed with espo watching TV. When beckett got to work she had to be briefed on a case since she missed the beginning. After a while they got some leads on who ran espo off the road. It was a man named John long. They brought him in for questioning and he confessed. Later that day espo was discharged from the hospital and lanie took home home.
