Hi, My name is Christopher and the Movie we are here to talk about today is The Call. Before I get into anything else when watching stuff I make a little parent guide, if you want to go through it you can hit the pause button on this video and have a look at the list, if you think that I've missed out anything leave it in the comments. I first saw the trailer for the movie on a movie account Tiktok and it looked interesting and I saw that it had intense scenes so I had to put the movie on my to watch list but I ended up watching it around half an hour later on Netflix. Anyway I'm going to show you some of the Movie covers that I have found. My top 2 favourites have to be these. I like the red filter that they both have on them as it is associated with danger and stuff which relates to the movie in that sense also I just makes the cover poster more eye catching. For this one I like all the detail of the map and for this one I like how it relates to what the movie is kind of about It shows us three pictures which we see in the movie which I like to see in Movie cover posters.
I am now going to talk about some of the Movie details. This Movie was rated a 15, and it first came out in September in 2013 and in other places it came out a few months apart. The Movie was directed by this person and was created by these three people. and has a runtime of 1h 36min. It was said that the cast and crew started filming on the 6th of July in 2012, I'm not sure when they finished filming through and was said to have been filmed in California which is in the USA, in these places and the Movie had an estimated budget of what was said to have been
There was a few things that I liked which was that it had a fast paced that carried out throughout most of it, it had me glued for the whole movie, It had Great, action filled scenes with suspense. The acting was pretty good in my opinion while watching it felt realistic to the point where it felt like I was actually there with them. I liked the Soundtrack that was used, I think it worked well with the scenes. There were a few parts were it was shot in dark lighting but everything we needed to see we could which was good. The movie had a time skip which was 6 months later after the opening scene, I normally don't like time skips but with this movie I found it alright, and the filming was good but there was a few times where I thought there was a person spying on another character but it just turned out that wasn't the case in some scenes so I didn't really understand the choice of camera angle's at times. After watching it I can say that it reminded me of one of my favourite shows which is criminal minds, as we get to see both sides of the people. Ones that are trying to help and track the person down and other of the person who was in need of help but in CM they also show a point of you of the unsub. The unsub is the unknown person who is braking the law and committing the crime.
To be honest I found the movie predictable at times and It did feel like I had watched a movie like this one with the same type of ending. I was hoping that the person would ring Paul and they would work together and to do things the right way. With Paul's character I feel like he was lacking in the movie too so if he came into the picture when the person found the clue at the place and maybe having a mini fight on the phone with Paul saying stay there and then having the person going anyway they would have had back up sent out and also more of Paul even if it was even slightly more than we had.
I would have thought that the police would have picked up on the information a bit sooner and would have stepped in a lot faster when they gained information but instead they were really slow on that part, also I think the writers may have forgotten all about thermal imaging because if that was used things would have been different, They could have also found a way to have had that in and to the same result but if it was used I think it would have looked a bit more smarter. Another thing to be honest I wasn't a huge fan of how a few things had planned out. I would have like to have gotten to know a bit more about Michael as a viewer through flashbacks of his life before and not just by a few pictures that was found, but the reason why it probably didn't happen was because the writers wanted the man who was the unsub to have looked a different way because of the way they wanted to end the movie. So if we had a lot of information, we would have been rooting as a viewer for Michael to get help and for it to have not ended the way it did. If you look at it. If you really think about it, it's not good. It was done as more of a power thing to get back at the person.
The way it ended just left me annoyed, I kind of understand with what happened at the end because that would have been playing in the back of other peoples mind's too but just as a thought and nothing else. If you take a step back, it wasn't 100% the unsub's fault really, the person did have some kind of mental health issue, In the movie it talks about something about things not being your fault and stuff its not your fault if something is out of your control and stuff like that. You know what can also be out of your control? Mental health. I wished that he was given help for which we could have seen at the end. If you think about it why do you think that if her department had found out about what happened and then the end result would end with her being fired. In my opinion she should have just left it to the people who actually worked in that field or just helped them and also what about Michael's family? and the way it ended it just wasn't fair especially for them. I hate it when they go off unless its in a like funny sarcastic sassy way and then did the right thing straight after but not the way the movie ended. No just No that wasn't okay. If you think its okay to kill someone for killing someone . . . Like the aim should be to try and stop them and sent them off to a very secure prison or hospital, prison hospital. I really wished that they would have just rung the police and get them to deal with it and let them do there time for the things they done that way or something what ever the judge chooses is best, the right way and not slowly killing them. Which I'm guessing was what happened in this movie as we don't get to really know.
I would have liked there to have been an epilogue at the end because the ending just didn't cut it for me. It ended to harshly I wanted to know what happened and how it was really dealt with. Like did they just leave him to rot or did they go back to hurt him. I think it would have been good to have the voice over at the end and see what she was saying been actually played out on screen or something at least, It just annoyed me I really don't like endings like that unless there is 100% another movie for it. My top 4 favourite characters from the Movie, starting at number 4 has to be, flora, Casey, Paul and then Jordan. For each movie that I watch, I rate out of 10, so for this I'm going to give it 7.
