A feeling of déjá vu

Faint and blurry colours filled your vision as you blinked your eyes. Bright lights and fuzzy sounds overwhelmed your senses in a crescendo of different noises. A feeling of heaviness was pressing down on your chest, multi coloured objects began to take over your field of view before you surfaced out of a ball bit. The noises around you becoming clearer and the face of your mother came into view, her hands reaching out towards you. Small and fragile hands came from the point of view of yourself, clasping around her neck and burying your face into her shoulder. Her warm embrace engulfing you in a feeling of comfort.

Right here, right now was perfect. The noises of the pizzeria and other children around you being drowned out, only to soon be replaced by one all too familiar.

The loud and irritating sound of your alarm clock jolted you from you dream.

You were laying face down into your pillow, the alarm clock blaring it's obnoxious tone as you reached over and quite aggressively hit the stop button.

The time on the clock read 9:00 pm. You blinked your eyes, trying to clear your blurry vision as you pulled yourself out of bed and made your way down the hallway to freshen up, Ollie following close behind.

Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you thought about your dream. The comforting and warm feeling you received from it had left you feeling nostalgic of events in the far reaches of your mind. Events that couldn't even be triggered by being in Freddy's itself, but somehow resurfaced in a dream.

As you finished brushing your teeth, you went back to your room, running through what you were going to do today in your mind, as to not forget anything important.

It was Sunday, your now favourite day of the week. It had been about a month since your first meeting with the more ' human' animatronics at Freddy's, and you were excited to see them once more. It was now mid December, and the weather outside hadn't let up since it first started snowing last week. Having to shovel the driveway was never something you looked forward to doing, but it had to be taken care of.

Throwing on a hoodie and sweatpants, you made sure to feed Ollie his dinner before grabbing your coat, boots, and gloves and  shovel to get rid of the snow that had been building up during the day.

The sun had set a couple hours before you got up, so the only light you were able to by was the street lamp across the road and your dim porch light. As large snowflakes drifted slowly to the ground, a cold wind rushed by, sweeping up loose top snow and blowing it across the road, leaving no trace of tire marks or otherwise.

'This is certainly a far cry from my ocean paradise of a dream.'

The job was difficult, but after about half an hour, you had cleared out just enough snow to allow your car to fit through. "Finally" you sighed, laughing a little. "I never really thought I'd have to do this. But I guess that's what I get for living on my own."

Heading back inside, you removed your winter gear and headed back towards your room. After digging through your drawers for a few minutes, you decided on wearing a dark blue hoodie, grey jeans that had been ripped at the knees (unintentionally), and a pair of white socks you layered over your jeans.

After changing and warming up some leftovers, you stopped to say goodbye to Ollie before putting on your coat and sneakers and heading out the door.

The drive to Freddy's was quiet, and calm. The snow seeming to part in the way of your car like the Red Sea as you made your way slowly down the long stretch of road. You considered turning on the radio, but decided against it. Instead making the 30 minute drive to Freddie's in silence, with only the sound of the wind and crunching of snow under your tires to accompany you.
