Girlfriend

I walked into the bar when I saw a cute male sitting there. I walked up and sat next to him.

"One vodka please" I said.

"Make that two." He added. "Tough day?"

"Yeah, I had two patients die today, and they were doing so well. But they both threw clots and there was nothing we could do." I replied.

"Oh, sorry to hear. My names Akaashi, by the way." I suddenly  get a call.

"Yeah. I'll be right there." I said to the caller. I hung up the phone and said. "Sorry, I have to go, incoming trauma." I begin running out the door.

"Wait!" Akaashi called. I turn around, "I never got your name."

"Y/n." I said while walking out the door.

"Until we meet again y/n" Akaashi said while tipping his hat.

"Until then" I called out. And then I ran across the street towards the hospital.

A few days later

It was a long, tough day at the hospital and all I was looking forward to was going home and sleeping. As I was walking to my car, I noticed someone sitting on the bench. I walked up to him. "Can I help you with anything?" I asked. He looked up.

"Y/n!" He said happily.

"Akaashi?" I asked. He stood up and grabbed my hands.

"Y/n, would you like to come over for dinner?" he asked. I was really tired and really just wanted to go home, but I was also starving.

"Sure!" I replied. We both got into our separate cars and I followed him to his house. When we got inside I was greeted by his cute little Yorkie. "Why hello there!" I said petting the head of the dog.

"I'm just warning you about the neighbor. He is a child. He bangs on things and will cry." He says.

"Why is he home alone?" I ask.

"I usually watch over him, he should be sleeping but just in case I have the keys to the apartment" He said.

"Okay" I reply. Akaashi put on some music and started cooking dinner. I was quietly singing in the bathroom while I was fixing my hair, when he walked in.

"You have a beautiful voice y/n." He said putting his hands on my hips. He began kissing my neck. I wanted to pull away because we were going to fast, but the soft touch of his lips on my neck paralyzed me. Then the timer went off. Akaashi pulled away and walked into the other room to check on the food.

"Y/n, the food is ready." He said as I walked in. I went and took a seat at the table when he brought in the food. I filled up my plate and began to eat when we heard pounding of the walls next door.

"I am just going to go check up on him. He likes to pretend he is a ninja sometimes." He said while getting up from the table. He walked next door. I sat there examining the place. It was very clean and tidy. And his cute little dog had her own little bed in the corner.

I could hear Akaashi speaking to the child through the wall. A couple minutes passed and Akaashi came back.

"Sorry about that." He said apologetically.

"Oh no, it's perfectly fine! You seem to work well with children." I said.

"Yeah, I had some practice with my friend Bokuto." He replied.

"These kids are your friends? Do you have any friends your age?" I asked. He began to laugh and then explained that Bokuto was his age. It even got me laughing.

We finished up dinner and washed the dishes.

"Would you like to just stay the night? We seem to be in the middle of a rain storm." He asked.

"Yeah. Sure!" I reply enthusiastically.

"Glad you're excited." He said with a smile. I got into one of his long shirts and a pair of his sweatpants. He had an extra tooth brush, so I brushed my teeth and then went to bed.

When I woke up, he was gone but there was a note.

Early morning work, be back at noon. You can stay as long as you like. But if you leave, here are the keys.

Right next to the note, there was the extra keys to the apartment. I decided to take a walk at the park. I got dressed into my clothes from the day before and left. I walked around the park for hours. I kinda lost track of time. There was this one pretty blue bird that I was watching intently as it flew in the sky. While I was watching the bird, I was not paying attention in front of me. I ran into someone and fell right on top of him.

"Good evening to you too." He said laughing. "Are you ok?" He asked.

"Yeah...I think so. I am so so sorry! I wasn't paying attention. Are you hurt?"

"Oh, it's fine. I landed on my hand and it kinda helped the fall. The names Bokuto, and you are...?" He asked.

"Y/n" I reply.

"Are you Akaashi's girlfriend? He called me this morning and couldn't stop talking about how awesome you are."

"Well...I wouldn't necessarily say 'girlfriend'" I replied feeling a bit flustered being called Akaashi's girlfriend. I think I liked it.

"Wanna go get some ice cream?" He asked.

"Sure! That sounds fun." I reply.

I decided to get some of my clothes and take them to Akaashi's place. He did give me keys for a reason. Right?

I unlocked the door and found flowers everywhere. Almost in a path to the dining room. I went into my room (the guest bedroom) and put my clothes on my bed. I then followed the flowers to see Akaashi in a suit and some very fancy food on the table.

"Akaashi-" I began to say.

"Ok, I know we just met, but I really do like you y/n and I think we could be something special." He got down on one knee and pulled out a box covered in red velvet. He opened it to reveal a beautiful necklace. "Y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked. I knew that we were moving very fast and I barely knew him but I knew that he was a very good guy and I may as well give it a try. I had had troubles in past relationships because I was afraid of commitment and I wasn't going to mess it up again.

"Yes!" I shout, giving him a hug. He clipped the necklace on me and we sat down for dinner. Akaashi is a very good cook. "You know, I met your friend Bokuto today."

"You did?" He asked. "I hope he didn't cause you too much trouble."

"Not at all! We went for ice cream and it was pretty fun." I reply.

"Good to hear, he can be childish at times. But he is a really nice guy." He said.

"I can tell. He kept complimenting me and said that you were lucky to have me." I said laughing.

"He wasn't wrong" He replied.
