I sluggishly stepped into the dining area as I hear some noise arising from there giving me goosebumps.

"Merry Christmas in advance, Chrissy.” Randy and Maria chorused.

I didn't expect these two. How did they get here?

“What are you two, doing here?” I asked.

I could recall how sadistic Randy sounded on the phone when I request him to come over and take care of mom, and Maria's cruelty as well.

"We are here for mom,” Randy answered.

It is the same Randy that chose to be with his music band to perform some professional recording than to be by his dying mother. And same Maria who took Dad's side when he crushed mom's trust in him and left her for a slut.

"We have both realized our mistakes and are here to compensate,” Maria said.

Not wanting to argue about the past, we talked about mom's condition and planned on going there together in the morning. It had been her wish to celebrate Christmas with the whole family, and now that Randy and Maria came home, she wasn't in the condition to celebrate.

The doorbell rang for the fifth time, and no one seemed to attend to it. I had been screaming Randy's name but the loud music that had been playing in his room won't allow him to hear my call. Maria had gone out for a morning walk, and I was in the bathtub cleaning my weary corporal.

I hastily clutched my bath towel and got to the door. I became a jumble and completely befuddle upon laying my eyes on Mike and my two little angels; Amie and Clara.

The dreary moment turned cheerful. I have my younger siblings on my side, and also got Mike and the children back.

“I'm sorry baby. I decided in anger… I hope you can forgive me.” I became so sentimental and threw myself into his embrace.

“I missed you, honey.”

I walked into the CICU, not with a solitary, gloomy face but in the company of my whole family. I gently pushed the door to mom's room. I felt giddy almost sloping down on the tiled floor. The bed was empty. Where could she have disappeared to? The woman that couldn't even identify the place she was in. Where could she have gone?

“Ms. Chrissy, your mom had been discharged earlier,” said the receptionist.

Just a look at everyone's face; you could utterly say how disappointed and worried they were.

Mike drove us back home. An evergreen Christmas tree, decorated with ornaments and lights gave a warm welcome at the frontage of the house. We all walk-in and everyone was surprised to see mom watching television in a wheelchair, and Dad sitting beside her.

"What the hell is this man doing in our house?”

Mom looked upon me, her face with excitement on her face.

"Your Dad regrets his deeds. He is sorry for all that had happened in the past.” Mom explained.

It's unbelievable! But all I wanted was for the family to be happy and united, so I rested my case.

“There's always light at the end of a tunnel,” mom says cheerfully as Maria and I run and fall into her wide arms. "It's going to be a grand Christmas this year."

“Cheers guys! Let's have a family photo” Randy exclaimed.

Cheers…
