[2: meeting the boys]

it was not a minute past 11am when the two girls arrived at their destination, a place that was unknown to pj until this moment: the sway house. a house stuffed with absolutely attractive guys that she feared would all make fun of her just like the jocks in highschool did, because she never was the life of the party, nor was she reckless or down to be very spontaneous: phoebe liked her life organized and structured, hence why she always wrote little to-do lists in the notes app on her phone to check off quickly once she fulfilled one of her daily goals. just minutes earlier she put a check behind her biggest goal of the day, „meet up with dixie".
besides the fact that the blonde was extremely organized she'd never been to a party or even thought about drinking a sip of alcohol or smoking a blunt. boys, girls or anybody in between had also never been a topic for her, meaning that she was still a virgin and didn't go any further than having her first kiss in 8th grade. she was aware of the fact that the boys, and basically most people that dixie surrounded herself with, love to party and go wild most of the time, which actually made her a little anxious; she feared that she wouldn't fit into this specific group of people, because that would mean not fitting into dixies world anymore.
while the two best friends pulled up the driveway, just a few feet away from them most of the boys were occupied by their daily workout routine. not knowing that the girls just arrived, blake turned towards noah, who was bench pressing weights, and asked him curiously: „when is dixie gonna arrive?" „she should be here any second", the curly haired boy answered without hesitation while his lips formed an excited smile and his cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. „look at you smiling to yourself and shit, fucking simp", his best friend stated while beginning to laugh hysterically, to which noah just answered dryly: „how's amelie doing?" and with that, instant silence came from blake as his face turned beet red. „is griffin cooking?", josh asked while doing some chest workoug, trying to change the subject. „if you wanna call ordering food cooking then yes, he's fucking cooking", blake answered and three of the four boys started to laugh slightly. bryce michael hall however never noticed they started talking in the first place, for he was way too focused on his workout, and as the other boys got back to their workouts and turned up the music a little more, nobody noticed the doorbell ringing.
‚what if they don't like me?", phoebe asked dixie for what felt like the millionth time in 30 seconds, to which dixie replied by rolling her eyes and smiling. „they are going to be head over heels for you, i guarantee. they might look like total douchebags, but i promise you that they are the sweetest guys you will ever meet in your entire life", the brunette stated trying to calm her best friend at least a little bit, but as dixie rung the doorbell pj began to nervously chew on her bottom lip again. only a few seconds passed and footsteps were heard, followed by the front door swinging open to reveal a gorgeous young man with brown hair and a charming smile. „hey griffin", dixie greeted him with a hug, which he gladly accepted. „hey dix, what's up! noah's waiting for you, the boys are working out but i swear this man has been talking about you coming over non stop." the d'amelio sister's cheeks turned pink at the thought of her boyfriend, but she quickly collected her thoughts and introduced griffin to pj and vice versa. „oh, so you're the misterious best friend we all heard of but never met before, nice to finally see you", griffin grinned as he also embraced pj into a hug that caught her off guard: she was never one to go for a hug when she first met someone, but griffin was so welcoming, she was unable to not return the hug, so she did.
griffin guided the girls through the big house and towards the porch. through the big glass door pj was able to spot the other boys, which led her to panicking slightly for a split second. „breathe pj, they will love you", dixie whispered to her as she took a deep breath, and just as the brunette opened the glass door all four boys jumped into their big pool. „we always do that after a workout", griffin explained, „it helps you to cool off." one by one all of the sway boys resurfaced, and as the got out of the water all of them grabbed towels and dried themselves off. just as noah finished dabbing himself dry, dixie sprinted towards him and surprised him with a hug from behind, clinging to his back like a koala. „hey baby", noah said surprised as he turned around to press a loving kiss to dixies lips. pj smiled to herself; she was so happy that her best friend finally found a boy that treated her right.
„i wanna introduce you guys to somebody", the brunette said with excitement in her voice as she pointed behind herself right towards pj, who was hiding behind dixie and griffin this entire time. and now all of a sudden everybody's eyes were on her. she tucked a lose strand of hair behind her left ear before waving to the boys and smiling. „i'm pj", the blonde introduced herself and the boys started smiling. noah was the first to come up to her and engulf her in a welcoming hug. „i've heard so incredibly much about you, it's so nice to finally meet you in person", he said while letting the girl out of his embrace. „you must be noah then", the girl said jokingly, still there was a little bit of shyness left in her voice. she wasn't one that got used to a new environment very fast, especially with guys around, since most of them always had something to say about her. sure, she got hit on here and there, but she never took an interest in any of these people.
josh and blake were the next ones to introduce themselves to the new girl, and she was surprised to find out that they were equally as nice as noah and griffin. eventhough she heard from dixie that most of them have a past involving a ton of different women, these boys weren't the typical kind of fuckboys she was used to meeting, which proved a saying phoebe lived by since day 1: never judge someone based off of the things you hear about them.
