The room was silent, and as Harmony looked into Jasper's eyes, the reflection of the tree lights sparkled into them, brightening his eyes even bluer. His request had her pondering, and the longer she remained silent, the more he worried about her becoming upset with what he asked that she do.
He swallowed, thinking he should say something until he noticed her swallowing herself, with her mouth slightly moving as if she was getting ready to speak. And she did. Quietly. "Okay."
"Okay, what?"
"Okay, to try to let go of the past. Okay, to allow the girls to be happy. And okay, to you snapping shots and videos of them. Those I'd like to see."
He felt a rush of warmth roam through him and smiled. "Thank you."
"But I don't want to talk about this anymore tonight and would like to get some rest."
Jasper wasn't sure if she was upset or if she really was tired. And to make sure she wasn't upset with him, he lowered her on the couch, hovered over her, and studied her. "Are you sure you're not upset with me?"
"Really, Jasper. I'm not upset. Just tired."
He tilted his head to the side, still unsure if he believed her or not. "Are you lying to me?"
"It's after two in the morning."
"That's not what I asked."
"I already told you-numerous times. I'm tired, and I'm not upset. If I were upset, I'd ask that you leave and go back to the hotel. And I'd rather you not do that. What I want is to go to bed... with you lying beside me," she quietly added.
She was mad. But as much as she wanted to be pissed at Jasper, she couldn't find herself to be mad at him when he was only trying to be nice and wanting to give the girls something to smile about. Which he knew was something she wasn't going to allow the girls to experience. The thing is, before she left for work, she knew he was up to no good and now wishes she would have pressed him harder for what he had planned the night for the girls.
Reason being? Because she now feels a little hurt for missing the girls' first time decorating a tree, and although he was kind enough to take pictures and record their fun, she felt it still wasn't the same.
He caressed her face using the backside of his hand and smiled. "If that's what you want. Then, that's where I'll be," he silently said as he lowered his mouth to hers and slowly, and very lovingly kissed her until he felt something below wanting to rise for an occasion he didn't come prepared for and parted from her lips. He rolled off, and as he got to his feet, he bent over, slithered his hands and arms underneath her, and picked her up, carrying her bridal style to her bedroom.
Jasper laid her on the bed, then sighed as he stood, wanting to devour her badly. He wanted to make her his and to show her how much he has fallen for her. Not only did he fall hard for her, but he also fell in love with Zoe and Amelia, as well.
When he got the email that he was no longer heading to Nebraska to play Santa, he was upset. Since his sister's husband took a job in Lincoln, Nebraska, two years ago, life had been busy for them both where it caused them not to see each other. Since it had been two years since he saw her and his nephew, it was the location he was looking forward to the most.
Jasper loves playing Santa, but when he got the offer to play one for where he is now, he wrote an email declining the offer, hoping that another location in Nebraska would open, but he never sent the email. Instead, he deleted the email and wrote another, accepting the new location. And he's glad he did.
He didn't come to Deadwood looking for a girl to mess around with. And it wasn't his plan to meet someone and to fall in love with her. But he did.
