"Coming mom!" Alex said.

It was a morning and that meant it was time for school and like every other morning, Alex's mom would thunder his name from the kitchen asking him to get ready for school.

Stretching himself out of bed, Alex walked straight to the bathroom, still feeling sleepy. He'd stayed up late texting his friend about the new girl at school.

Tasha Williams was the new beauty at Greenville High School. She was really pretty and also very quiet. She would mostly stay on her own and only talked when necessary.

"How was your night sweetie?" Alex's mom asked as she turned to look at him.

"What did you say mom?" Alex asked, probably because he didn't hear his mom as he walked out of the bathroom to the kitchen.

"I asked how your night was and clearly it was short!" Alex's mom said, worried about the look on Mark's face which was pretty disturbing.

It had become a habit and Alex wasn't ready to give up his late night habit.

Mrs Smith was still a beautiful woman even though she was 39. She was married to a sheriff but Mrs Smith always acted like the family's sheriff.

"You look like you're about to faint!" A voice said from the kitchen door.

It was Alex's little brother, Max. He never for once stopped teasing but Alex would rather ignore him.

"Max, leave your brother alone!" Mrs Smith shouted.

Mrs Smith had gotten tired of always saying that when she realized that Max would not listen to her.

"Help me put these on the table, would you?" Mrs Smith finally said after the excruciating minutes of having to listen to Max and his teasing.

The family was having spaghetti for breakfast that morning and mom's cooking was always the best.

"Oh no! I'm late" Alex exclaimed, jerking from the chair after his eyes accidentally hit the wall clock.

It was past 8am before Alex realized that he was already late for school. He'd barely eaten enough but the one he'd had should suffice.

"Do you need a ride to school?" Mrs Smith asked as she watched her son race to the door.

"No, mom, I'll be fine!" Alex answered.

Alex quickly went for his backpack, flipping on a black killer jacket, the latest in town as he headed out of the house, refusing to take a ride in his mom's car.

"Max! Get ready, the bus is here." Mrs Smith turned to Max who was still busy with his food.

Alex and Max went to different schools and that's probably why Alex always ignored Max because there would be no annoying brother at his school.

"Slept late?" George, a friend of Alex asked, jokingly.

George was one of Alex's, mostly because they understood each other. He was the same age as Alex but a little bit taller than him.

"Yeah!" Alex arrived at school on his bicycle few minutes later and was lucky that first period had not started. He was greeted by his friends the moment he got to school most of which was to tease him.

Greenville highschool was a place which hosted a lot of students. It was a big school and totally one of the best.

"Rin...g" The students scurried to their classes as soon as they heard the bell ring. It was first period in the morning and everyone had got a class to get to.
