Rope Drop

I drove us to the magic kingdom park. Seeing the big sign out front that read 'Walt Disney World' always gave me a thrill. I love Disney with all my heart. From the movies to the atmosphere it projected. Our annual passes gave us free parking. I parked as close to the park as I could. The park opens at 8am and it is now 7:45am, so the spaces were filling up. I made sure I had everything as we got out of the car. My phone, wallet, keys, AirPods, and Mickey Mouse baseball cap. It was pretty nice weather out today. Even though it's summer it was only 70 degrees out, which was pretty cool for Florida weather.
"Alright. Where do we want to go first? What's the game plan?" Katie asked. I loved making a plan for when we went to the parks so that we could hit all the rides.
"Hmm. I think we should rope drop Fantasyland. Then Liberty Square, Then go to Frontierland, then Adventureland, then Tomorrowland."  I said, taking a quick break to think between each destination.
Katie nodded. "Sounds good! Let's go! Small world here we come!" She yelled.
I laughed at her. She loved the 'it's a small world' ride. I could, personally, do without it.
We made our way to rope drop at Fantasyland. When the park opened we ran to the small world ride. I won't lie it was nostalgic, but still not my favorite.
We walked around the park going on a bunch of Fantasyland rides. We then made our way over to Liberty Square. As we approached the notorious spooky mansion we both looked at one another and exclaimed, "Haunted Mansion!" Laughing as we made our way into the line. This was one of our top favorite rides. It was a classic. I leaned against the cool metal of the bar while we waited in line. Placing my hands on the bar behind me.
I looked at my phone and put my AirPods in my ears. They were a way for me to get lost in the moment and enjoy it. It blocked out my constant thoughts of people possibly judging me for the way I looked. Katie understood this as I had explained it to her before, so she just looked through social media on her phone as we waited.
When we made it up to the front of the line we were greeted by two cast members dressed in their haunted mansion costumes.
One was an older man, maybe in his 40's. He smiled at us and greeted us to the haunted mansion. The other cast member was a man maybe in his late twenties. Closer to Katie and I's age. I could tell he was handsome just from glancing at him for a split second. Like, supermodel hot. I looked away almost immediately. I don't deserve to even look at anyone that beautiful. I could feel his gaze on me as we entered the room where they give you the creepy message and the room feels like it's moving. The attractive cast member had disappeared from my view, but for some reason I could still feel eyes on me. I shrugged it off as it could literally be anyone in the room. Katie and I stayed towards the back of the group as I didn't like to be suffocated by a large group. The lights went out for a minute, like they usually do. It adds to the spooky effect.
Just then I felt someone slide something into my hand. It felt like a piece of paper. 'What the fuck?' I thought. Trying to look around, but once the light came back on there was no one there. I looked down at my hand and saw a slip of paper.
It read, "Text me: 407-555-1768"
I stared at the note, confused. Stuffing the note in my pocket before anyone could see. The older cast member said, "Enjoy your ride! I just hope you make it out... alive.!" As we walked out of the room and into the room with the moving coaster cars.
When we entered the shorter line I took out my AirPods and looked at Katie. Tapping her shoulder to get her attention.
"Ummm... I think I just got someone's phone number back there. But I don't know who.." I told her quietly. Not really knowing who gave it to me, I didn't want the whole world to know.
I took the note out of my pocket and showed it to her. Her eyes widened. "Oh my god! Summer! You HAVE to text them!" She whisper shouted.
"I don't know.... what if it's that old guy back there...?" I said, thinking about all the possibilities. "What of the person is a creep?"
"I doubt it. You'll never know if you don't try! We both know you're dying to find out. Girl, just do it!" She said, looking at me with puppy dog eyes.
"Ugh. Fine, but after our day. I don't want it to be ruined by me finding out that it was just some old guy." I said, shuddering at the thought.

Devon's POV
When I got to work I got assigned the part of a cast member at the haunted mansion. Grabbing my costume I put it on and made my way to my placement.
As I walked up to the haunted mansion I passed by the line to it. There was a girl in line wearing a toy story dress. I thought that was pretty cool as I loved the toy story movies. I couldn't see her face but she seemed to be bobbing her head to something. Music maybe? I wondered why she was listening to music while at the most magical place on earth.
I walked up to my post at the front to greet people. Relieving my coworker from her station.
I greeted people to the ride, trying to sound scary, which was hard for me. So I usually just let my partner take the reigns.
I watched as the girl in the toy story dressed walked up. She looked up at me, but then immediately looked away. This made my eyebrows furrow. Her eyes were a gorgeous ocean color. She seemed sad for some reason. Even after she looked away I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. It seemed like she tried to hide behind the wave of her blonde hair.
We walked the group to the main room. When I noticed my coworker looking away I pulled out a piece of paper and wrote my phone number on it as the speech was going. I contemplated giving it to her. Worried it might seem to creepy. But then the lights went out and I didn't have much time. I walked up to her and slid the piece of paper into her hand. Hearing her gasp quietly as the sudden contact. I backed away and made my way up towards my coworker. I hope I made the right choice, but I just had to shoot my shot. She was just so beautiful. I hoped she would message me.
