•Flock of a Feather sticks together...Willow Simmons
After yesterday's shenanigans, Uncle Sam managed to convince me to go back home and go to this 'oh-so-prestigious-school' called River Academy. But that doesn't mean that my uncertainties about this school are gone. I mean, saan is makaka-kita ng naka-tanggap acceptance letter galing sa isang prestihiyosong paaralan na hindi mo naman pinag-enroll-an?
"Trust me, Willow. You belong there."
I scoffed at the memory.
'Belong there my ass..'
"Lady Simmons, we're here." the driver announced, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked out the window and stared at the ginormous gate in front of us.
'The hell is gate?'
Muling nitong pinaandar ang kotse at nagmaneho papasok sa loob ng iskwelahan. Habang pinagma-masdan ko ang mga gusali sa paligid ay hindi ko maiwasang mamangha. Some of the structures were old but it still fits in with the rest. There was also a wide grass field filled with tall oak trees sandwiching the path we're taking.
We stopped in front of one of the old buildings. On its right part is a vintage street sign. HEADMASTERS OFFICE was written on it.
My train of thought was once again interrupted by the Butler opening the car door for me. I stepped out, and confidently but carefully walked towards the door. Whatever was happening inside, me knocking on the door made the shouting and whirr from inside stopped.
I reached for the doorknob, twist it, and slowly opened the door. Pitong bagong mukha agad ang sumalubong saakin, each with a different emotion.
The female with titanium blonde hair was checking hair nails like she doesn't give a care on whatsoever is going on. The female on her right with jet black hair was looking worried and was ready to jump in if something bad ever happens.
On the other side, one of the males with chestnut brown hair was looking calm and unbothered by his surroundings while reading the book in his hand. The copper-haired male beside him was looking rather bored and unentertained while chewing on his gum, while the medium brown-haired guy beside him was completely asleep. And lastly, the guy with the hair color similar to a truffle was the most stressed and angry looking guy in the room. He's probably the one running amok.
"Sino ka naman?" Nakataas kilay nitong tanong saakin.
"What a rude way to greet someone you just met, doesn't mister?" I snorted.
"This lady in front of you, Mr. Finch, is Lady Willow Simmons. The daughter of Frederick and Veronica Simmons." Pagpapakilala saakin ng lalaking naka-upo sa gitna.
"Ah, so we have another 'trust fund baby' in here." Saad into habang nakahalukipkip sa harap ko.
"Excuse me?" I scoffed.
"That's enough, from now on. All of you should get along, it's not an order, and it's not a request. Because from now own, all of you are in a team."
"What?" I confirmed.
"You heard me, Ms. Simmons."
"You expect us, to be in a team when we hardly know each other?" Nakahalukipkip kong saad rito.
"You have plenty of time ahead of you, Ms. Simmons"
"That is not an excuse. And besides, why are we even here?"
"Because you belong here."
"Really? Please, enlighten me, enlighten us." we all looked at him waiting for his response, he sighed and shook his head.
"Raven Academy is for people with a unique and incredible set of skills."
"Really? Now it makes me wonder what kind of 'unique set of skills' money bags here hold." the Finch guy snickered.
"Makes me wonder too why a good for nothing, foul-mouthed bastard was even accepted." I spat.
"A-ano pong ibig sabihin non?" The girl with the jet black hair finally spoke.
"Just as what is inferred. All seven of you have a different and unique set of skills that made you qualified to enter the Academy." Paliwanag nito saamin.
"Kung magka-kaiba kami ng talento'ng taglay, why put us in the same team?" Tanong naman ng lalaking kulay tanso any buhok.
"Creative differences always make things better. Now if you don't have anymore questions, I suggest you get going. Your first class for tomorrow starts at eight o'clock." sabay-sabay silang tumayo at naglakad papalabas ng pinto habang nanatatili among nakatayo sa harap nito.
"Ms. Simmons?"
"I still have a question."
"Go ahead."
"Why did you put us in a team?" He sighed.
"A flock cannot be called one if there are only 3 birds."
"But a flock has the same species of birds in it," I retorted.
"There are more than meets the eye, Ms. Simmons." sagot nito na nakapag-pakunot ng noon ko. Pero imbes na tanungin kung ano ang ibig nitong iparating ay tinalikuran ko nalang it.
"Ms. Simmons.." I stopped on my tracks waiting for him to speak.
"Birds of a feather flocks together."
