Hot Take: Fixing Mangle is Overrated.

In almost every single story I read with Mangle, or every ROBLOX RP I play, Mangle is always fixed, or other people try to fix me when I play as Mangle (who I main, so it happens a lot). But I think it's extremely overrated. The point of Mangle is that they are broken (I am going to refer to Mangle as they/them since I don't want "maNGLe iS A BOy/GIrl" comments. And I don't want to say (s)he. Let's normalize using singular they/them pronouns, for our enby friends). If Mangle is fixed, Mangle isn't Mangle. In the canon of FNaF, Mangle is just a broken robot, but when writing, you have the opportunity to make a character with Mangle. People making stories with Mangle (especially those who write Fangle fanfiction) can make Mangle go through an internal struggle, not liking the way they look, and have them come out with new self-confidence, and have a hidden lesson about how looks don't matter, and how you should love yourself. Even though Tony Crynight, who is often what Fangle fanfics and animations especially are based off of, fixed Mangle in the end, she spent most of Episode 2 and all of the series (except the very end of the last episode) mangled. I can understand animators and artists fixing Mangle, since their design is a bit of work, but writers and role players? You're really missing out on a chance to utilize a character by fixing them in the first five minutes of introduction. I have never really written Mangle as fixed because it's so boring. And it feels like a betrayal to the character. So, hot take: fixing Mangle is overrated. Stop doing it.
