"What are you going to do if I die?"

Several times a day, I always hear this rant from my papa and it wasn't the best time to hear it in the morning when the sun is still rising.

I shook my head and grab my stuff, and pick my shoes on the rack so I could leave the house immediately. As I waited on the porch, my mama hurriedly put my little brother's bag in the car.

I checked my phone and it's fifteen minutes before turning to seven in the morning. I guess, my brother's gonna be late a bit for school.

It was a long ride even it's just a mile away from school. Maybe because I've got into my papa's nerve early in the morning. He was mad or maybe disappointed. ( Though he was always been disappointed) The business is completely rising quickly, even we're still months open. It was kind of scary, and ridiculous to be honest. I always thought if you're going to have a business it will take months to years before you see drastic improvements. But, why does it only take three months but I could see how fast everything is. It was scary, but I tried to hide it in the back of my mind. No need to worry, I said to myself. Maybe, we just got lucky. Beginner's luck eh?

It was a long reverie until I hear the car's door close and saw my mama and brother going into his school. I glance at papa, and he was having a deep sigh.

"Marrian, what are you going to do with your life? Do you want to be lazy forever? What are you going to do if I die?"

I was silent.

I was hesitant to answer.

But, if I only know that his giving me signs that it will come true sooner, I could grip myself harder to focus and do something about my life.

I was screaming.

Endlessly.

As if I was thrown a bucket of cold water.

My sense becomes dull for a  moment.

"Marrian, I need you to calm down."

"Please, try to calm down as possible."

"Your papa was shot. He was dead."
