"Break them up," I yelled at the men that was standing around watching them.
If this ain't the fùcking ghetto
I sat on the porch braiding my four year old daughters hair.
Since, it feels so good outside I decide to do my baby Aria's hair outside, instead of doing it in my studio.
I'm a huge hairstylist in the North. I've done a lot of celebrities and influencers hair. I own a shop in Chicago and I'm working on opening one in New York.
I put the last barrette on her braid as my best friend Ivy walked up with her little sister India.
"Hey, friend," she greeted sitting down on the steps. India sat next to her and murmured a small "hi".
"Hey, y'all. Go put this bucket up, princess."
I passed her the small hair bucket and watched her take it into the house.
"What y'all got going on today," Ivy asked applying lipgloss to her lips.
"Aria's going to my moms house and I'm staying in the house. I might watch a movie and order some food."
"You should come to Judah's kickback with me."
Judah, or Day - Day, as the hood calls him is Ivy's boyfriend of six years. They met at a block party and hit it off.
"Ion know about that," I replied standing up to stretch.
Even though Day - Day is cool the people he hang out is irritating as héll. Plus, he's party always ending in someone fighting, shooting, or both.
Before, I had my princess that shít didn't bother me. But, now I have someone to take care of and being around all that is not it.
"Come on, it's not going to be bad India is even going and you know her anti social áss don't go no where," India rolled her eyes at her sister comment.
India is Ivy's 19 year - old sister. She's the complete opposite of her sister. Since she graduated high school a year earlier she's attended her junior year of college in a couple of months.
She's hélla shy around people she just met and you'll rarely see her outside. If she's not with her sister she's in the house or at school. That's why I'm not surprise she wants to be a psychologist. That girl is beyond smart.
"But, DO she wants to go," I asked looking at India.
Even though, their not my biological sisters I'm extremely over protective over them. I've been friends with Ivy since middle school. We've been though everything together and India is like the little sister I never had.
I was just like India in high school and I just broke out of my cell when I had my daughter. So I understand the standing at home and only hanging around center people.
"Yea, I want to go it'll be fun."
I stared as she scrolled on her phone.
"I guess if India's going I'll go."
I ignored Ivy's cheering and walked into the house to see what Aria was doing.
I know it shouldn't take this long to put a bucket up.
I heard laughing and I walked into her room to see her playing with her toys.
"You ready to go to your grandmas house," I questioned as I walked to her closet to pack her overnight bag.
I was a freshly graduated pregnant women, working at Walmart and occasionally doing hair on the side.
My parents were there for me but they couldn't do EVERYTHING. So I was basically doing everything by myself.
Then, I went to cosmetology school and I was also taking business classes online. I quit Walmart and started doing hair part time.
As I learned more styles my business grew more. I'm so happy I didn't quit because I wouldn't be where I'm at today.
