Evan pulled into the very small and very crowded parking lot. He turned off his car and hesitated.

The faded red restaurant looked a little worn down with peeling paint, a broken step, and the door held open with a brick. The noises coming from inside makes it sound like a bar.

Even the neon The Red Boar sign looked like it was going to fall any minute.

The man turned to the redhead. Who was grinning ear to ear and already unbuckling.

"Uh, you sure this is the place?"

Ansel nodded and stepped out of the car. Evan sighed and climbed out too. Just as he did, the Red in the neon sign blinked out of existance. He gave Ansel a sideways glance.

"This is where you wanna eat?"

Ansel laughed and took Evan's hand, pulling him towards the junky building. "Just trust me."

Evan felt his face heat up and he tightened his grip on Ansel's hand. The ginger smiled to himself and the two walked into the smoke filled building.

Evan was right. The Red Boar, or The Ed Boar now, was a glorified bar. It had a karaoke station set up in a corner. A short bar on the side wall with 4 bar stools that were filled with costumers. There were 4 or 5 tables and a couple of bench tables in the corners. A dance area and a jukebox right in the center. It even had a disco ball.

The two boys crawled into a corner seat as someone started The Beatles on the jukebox.  Evan leaned in to make sure Ansel can hear him. "Didn't you say you wanted all you can eat?"

"Lucas has an all you can eat chicken wing with all you can drink beer. He starts the table off with 3 trays of wings. One hotter than the next. They are extremely good."

Ansel prattled and Evan smiled, liking this trait about him. The waitress comes over and immediately sets her eyes on the new boy in town.

"Hey, darling, you new?"

Evan flashed her a perfect grin and nodded. "Yeah. The new teacher at the school."

The waitress moved her eyes slowly down the handsome dark headed man. "Moved here all alone?"

Evan flashed another grin but focused his gaze on Ansel. "I did."

Ansel flushed under his gaze and cleared his throat. He suddenly didnt like the waitress. "We want the all you can eat wings, Patty."

She nodded and winked at Evan. Her eyes never turning to Ansel. "Coming right up."

Evan winked and leaned closer to Ansel. "Thanks, Patty."

Ansel unconsciously glared at Patty's back. Evan noticed and chuckled under his breath.

He has always been attractive. Always had girls falling for him. And when he was in high school, he dated around. It wasn't until college that he realized he wasn't the type for breezy relationships. He needed a connection. A spark. He needed someone who could also be his friend.

It was also the first time he dated a guy. They dated all through college and broke up when they graduated. All on mutual terms. It was the best relationship he had so far.

He wasn't entirely sure if he was bi. He just knew the person's gender didn't matter to him. He needed a connection.

"I'm not interested in her. And I am pretty sure she just wants a hook up." He assured the adorable male in front of him.

Ansel flushed, clearly embarrassed he got caught. "I know that!"

Evan laughed and Ansel changed the topic. Not wanting to be teased again. "So how do you like Highwool so far?"

The two made small talk and laughed through out the night. The waitress brought them the food and beers but resigned on her flirting. Evan's eyes never looked her way again.

Evan ate all the spicy wings and Ansel the mild. He teased the ginger about his spice tolerance and Ansel teased Evan for his distaste for beer.

Evan ordered a whiskey and coke and Ansel another beer. They leaned towards each other. So close they could feel each other's breath. They talked about Ansel moving away from his family when he got out of college. How his dad doesn't approve of him being gay.

Ansel told him he had 3 sisters and his best friend, Arya, ran the bowling alley in town. He told him how he loved to paint and how he took ballet all through high school.

Evan wanted  to know everything about Ansel. So he let the redhead talk and he listened. Taking every word to heart and remembering every word and every expression.

The more Ansel's delicate voice spoke, the more Evan decided he liked him. He smiled and Ansel stopped. He ran a hand through his hair and laughed awkwardly.

"Am I talking too much?"

Evan immediately shook his head. "Not at all. I like your voice. You are very cute. Like ridiculously cute."

Ansel blushed and stood up, shaking the glasses on the table. He swallowed, his heart racing in his chest. "Look at the time. I think we should go."

Evan shook his head, smiling. Damn. Even the fact that Ansel couldn't take a compliment made is heart swell. He has a feeling that Ansel could make him fall hard.

Because after one day knowing Ansel, he felt like this.

And he never felt like this before.

Ansel ran to the bathroom and Evan snuck off to pay for their food. Patty took his card and smiled sweetly at him. "So I am guessing if I gave you my number you wouldn't use it?"

Evan shrugged and smiled apologetically. "I wouldn't even accept it. Sorry."

She grinned and handed his card back. "Good luck. Ansel doesn't date."

Evan nodded and Ansel came out of the bathroom.  He saw Patty leaning over the counter and felt his heart tighten. Instinctively, he grabbed Evan's hand. Patty's eyes widened and Evan grinned.

"Let's go. You have to take me home."

Evan waved goodbye as Ansel once again led him to the door.

The two were fairly quiet on the way home. The only sound was Ansel giving instructions and the soft sounds of Oasis on the radio. Evan pulled into the driveway of a small green house.

Evan immediately thought it matched Ansel 100%.

He put the car in park and flashed a grin at his passenger. "Thanks for going with me. I had fun."

Ansel smiled back. "I'm glad you invited me."

He went to climb out of the car and stopped. He stared at his empty carport and felt his heart drop. He just realized something very important. He cursed and turned to Evan awkwardly.

Evan raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"My car is still at the school."

Evan's eyes widened in realization as he noticed the same thing. "Oh."

The two sat/stood awkwardly for a moment, wondering what to do. Finally, Evan cleared his throat.

"I could pick you up."

Ansel blushed and leaned into the car. "You sure?"

Evan grinned and nodded. "More time I can spend with you. I will call you when I am heading your way."

"Ok then. Good night, Evan." Ansel agreed. Evan reached over and gently touched the boy's fluffy red hair.

"Good night."

Evan waited until Ansel was in his house before he peeled out and headed home. His apartment was dark and filled with unpacked boxes. He through his keys on his nightstand and fell onto his bed.

"Today was certainly interesting." He thought out loud as he stared at his ceiling. Ansel's face flashed through his mind. He smiled.

He can't wait until tomorrow. He sets his alarm and closes his eyes. He felt the liquor he drank lull him to sleep.

He didn't even take his shoes off.
