i know the storyline may be confusing to some, so i will provide a small summary.
the story follows a devil (the protagonist) with his conversations and adventures with the small god (she) who he signed a contact with, to take her divinity in exchange for his friendship for a year. as for why, i would probably explain in the prequel or sequel. 😳 the story does not follow a specific timeline, it is in snippets, until the last chapter, which is his last memory. because he is immortal, he does not take notice of time, and hence everything is in snapshots. their conversations are mostly about the small god sharing their/her experiences being a mortal, and plainly just them providing companionship to each other, as normal immortals are devoid of feelings, but they both are immortals with feelings, so before they met, both were lonely. after, they were not.
