The beginning of it.

I lived a normal life. Well, my kind of normal. You see, I was a werewolf. No, I don't know how... to be honest, thinking about how? It kind of grosses me out. Anyway, back to normal. I grew up in the most ordinary house there was. I was born, I grew up, having fun and going away to different places on holiday. I had birthday parties, went out with my friends, sat in the car whilst my mum embarrassed me with baby pictures. But then, one day, when I was 14, everything changed.

------------- ///// THE DAY \\\\\ -------------

"Luna!" My mum called up from the front door. (I know, ironic, isn't it?)

"Are you coming or not? We can't go camping without you!"

"Coming, mum!" I called, stuffing my clothes into my rucksack and frantically tying my laces before rushing - and nearly falling - down the stairs. "Finally," she exclaimed, walking over to the jam-packed car. "I was starting to think that you'd forgotten about us!"

Guess I should say something about myself. My name is Luna, I have ginger hair, reddish-grey eyes (yes that exists)(see first page ) and I love being outside. My mum is called Jesse, my dad is called Joe, and my best friend is Aura Iden. I think that covers it... oh, and the werewolf thing, but I didn't know about that 'till later. Ok! We were four hours into the journey, and I was long past merely 'bored'. I was ready to camp out on a barbed-wire fence if we didn't get there soon. The fact wasn't helped by the sun still being up. It was like it was taunting me. "Oh, look at yourself, it hasn't been long if I'm still up, yet you think it's been ages," it seemed to say, and the most infuriating thing? It was right. "We're there" my mum called. "Finally," I groaned. My mum laughed at my expression. "What?" I protested. She dismissed it, saying nothing. Ha! Half an hour later, everything was set up and we were roasting marshmallows on the fire.

Paradise if there ever was one.

"We're going in," my parents called. "Come in when you're ready." I nodded. I didn't want to go in. I wanted to stay there for longer than I could. I wanted to stay there. So I got up and walked further into the forest, abandoning the warmth of the fire. Embracing the darkness. Loving the feel of the cold wind against my face. And then the first wave of pain hit. "Oh my god" I said. Tried to. I tried to scream as the second pulse came. I couldn't, but, oh, hell I wanted to. It felt like a thousand hot needles against the inside of my skin. Like my bones were rearranging themselves. Like... And then I could talk again. Just like that. But then I tried. All that came out... was a howl. Again? A snuffle. Then a bark. Then I did the natural thing.

I ran.
