The next morning, my mind is blank. But soon everything comes to me. I have a muscular arm protection sound my waist, my back is pressed up against muscular chest, and last thing, it's Ashton. My mind goes back to last night, everything that happened. From the beginning to the end of the night. I enjoyed it, I actually enjoyed it. I enjoyed being in his arms more than anything that happened last night.
I still remember Lana and I's conversation at the mating ceremony. How she told me he killed his mate and his pup. I didnt believe it, but now, well I am certain that I don't believe it. Why? Well he killed - slaughtered - John, Marco, and Alex...for me. Even though I could have handled them, I'm even more glad Ashton was there. He did it for me, to protect me, because he hated what those guys - mundanes even - did to me when I was younger.
He cares about me, whether he'll admit it or not, he does and I think I'm finally ready to accept it as a fact. Let's just see if he can. I slightly turn my head over my shoulder to get a look at Ashton. He's still sleeping, great. I very slowly move out of his arms, and quickly race into the shower. I think he sensed I want there anymore, I'm pretty sure he did. I mean, wolf instinct right?
When I step out if the shower and start to dry myself, I hear a knock on the door. "I'm hungry." I have a shocked smile on my face. What the hell? Is he serious?
"Are you being for real?" I ask, moving towards the door. My smiles comes down a little, and now I'm confused.
"Yes. Come out." I furrow my eyebrows, at how dry his voice is. Was I wrong? Was everyone else right? He only wanted me for a pup, and now that we mated he's going to act like an asshole? No, if that's true I'm out, and never coming back.
I wrap myself in my towel and unlock the door. I see Ashton at the dresser, facing me, both hands on the dresser. He has a blank face on, but he stares me up and down. He moves away from the dresser, and comes towards me. Not knowing what's going on, I remain emotionless as I watch him. He stands only centimetres away from, and without looking away from my eyes, his hand goes over the knot of my towel. The only thing keeping it up.
Even more confused, I stop his hand, and give him a cold look. His eyes shine with amusement. "Sorry. Did I have to be more specific of what I was hungry for?" He chuckles at reaction. My jaw drops, and I freeze. What the hell did he just say? I'm sorry, what?!
"Full of jokes are you this morning?" I hiss, moving away from him to take out clothes. His eyes follow my every move, and a smirk is planted on his face.
"No, quite the opposite actually, I was one-hundred percent serious. But that's ok, we can reschedule for later." He says with a wink, as he walks past me, stroking my bare shoulder as he does.
I scoff at him, lying a black skirt and a tight burgundy long sleeve on the bed. "Ya, for sure. Don't wanna miss that!" He chuckles at my sarcstim, and rests an arm on the door frame.
"Come and eat, before you get changed." I look at him, than back at my outfit. I shrug, than walk out of the bedroom to the kitchen, Ashton right behind me.
I stop and look around, confused becase I don't see any food. I look at Ashton. "When you said "come and eat" I thought there would at least be food."
Ashton looks at me amused, and takes a seat at the island. "I'm a werewolf love, I don't have superhuman speed." I grin slightly, and look away from him. Good point. But, usually, when he calls me "love" I get this annoyed feeling, but now...now it's different. Like I don't mind it as much, it almost give me a safe feeling to it. Weird, right?
I quickly made eggs and bacon for us, but something in my head keeps distracting me. We didn't really get to as much talking last night as I wanted to, but now I feel like it's a good time. I look up from my plate at Ashton, who seems to be already watching me. "Can we talk?" I ask. Ashton smirks, and looks down at his plate while nodding.
