"Come on please."

I shook my head facing away from my father, "No way!" I could hear him sigh and flop down to the couch sulking at his defeat.

For the past half hour he had tried to convince me that us moving would be a wonderful idea, but I couldn't, I-I couldn't leave her behind.

"Jane, it's gonna be alright. Trust m-"

"No! W-why do you want to leave so much! Why do you want to leave her behind!"

He flinched looking away from my hurt face, "I understand why you feel that way Jane." He muttered standing up and placing a hand on my shoulder, "but please you have to understand that this move is for the better. I know your mother died when you were still young Jane, but you have to trust me on this one. Your mother would have agreed on this to."

Dad slipped his hand back to his side and turned away a stress look lingering on his face as he moved past me, heading upstairs probably to his room to continue packing.

I-I knew that it hurt him too... to leave this place.

He had mentioned that we were moving to Tokyo, to an old shrine that he had grew up in, he said it had a lot of history there and that my Grandfather would love to tell me of each and everything that they had there.

"Mom... I know I should listen to dad, but is this right? Is it right to leave you here while we pack up and leave? Is right to just leave all of our memories here and start over?" I whispered looking up towards the cream coloured ceiling trying to force back tears.

"If so, I want to thank you, for the things you've given to me."

I then walked out of the silenced fulled room and also headed upstairs to start packing up my room.

I'll miss you Mother.

I yawned gald to be off the plane, looking at my Dad I saw that he was trying to contact someone but seemed to be having trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi.

"Damnit." He muttered slamming his phone shut and looking around up at each sign that hung above an entrance.

"Which way did he say again?" Dad muttered scratching at the back of his neck a sheepish smile on his face, "Um, I'm pretty sure he said that one." I whispered pointing towards the first sign.

"Shinjuku, eh?" He questioned as I picked my bookbag up slinging it over my shoulder, I had made sure to pick the most important things out incase we took forever to unpack.

"I-its humongous! I've never seen a city so big!" I gasped looking around, Dad laughed at my behavior "I told you you would enjoy it! There's lots to do on this side of Japan."

I nodded grabbing my Dad's wrist and dragging him down the busy sidewalks, "Wow! Look at their Rice balls! They look so tasty! And look Red bean soup!"

Dad patted my head about to reply when…

"Shou- Okosan!"

We both turned at Dad's name being called, and there, right before us was an old man?

"Otōsan! Hello, it is nice to see you again!" Dad said bowing lightly, I copied, "Shou, what have I told you about that. There's no need to be so formal with me!" He laughed.

I tiltled my head, this little old man was my Grandfather? He was really short, with a bald spot in the middle of his grey hair, his beard was also grey and quite long as well.

He seemed to be wearing a type of kimono, our eyes met and he smiled brightly, "Jen-Kun! Its been a long time since I last you!" He chuckled, I looked around, was he talking to me?

"Sanpi! Please just call me Jane!" I answered turning red, Grandfather waved his hand, "I supposed that's what father called you in Hidaka, but while you stay with me you shall be known as Jen, your Japanese name."

I gave a nervous smile, "O-okay Sanpi."

Grandfather smirked, "Now come along younglings, I've got a lot up my sleeve to tell you about." He began to walk away and I glanced up at my father who looked down at me, "Well, let's go then Jane."

"Hai! I'm right behind you Dad!"

Right behind you…
