James Raynor, Marshall of Mar Sara, Leader of Raynor's Raiders, and later Commander of Dominion Armed Forces. His friends always called him by name Jim. After Amon's destruction, Jim decides to retire and spend his life in Mar Sara.
Although he got offer as Dominion Admiral from Valerian, he turned down that offer. Instead, he proposed Matt Horner as better candidate and Valerian accepted his suggestion. Riding his new Vulture Hoverbike, he goes to Joeyray's Bar. He plans to drink some whiskey as much as possible.
While sighing, Jim picks an item from his pocket. It's called Varast, a storage device. A blue box shape crystal with golden plate casing on its sides. Jim got this device from Artanis as a friendship gift. It's designed by Karax, a Phantasmith and best friend of Artanis.
This device can store items by altering their physical matter into digital form. Its maximum capacity is unknown but Karax claimed this device even can store a Protoss Mothership. Sounds ridiculous, but Jim is not a master of Protoss technology and doesn't want to think further.
Jim puts the device back into his pocket and returns his focus back to highway. Suddenly, a bluish white light appears and renders him blind. He is pushing brake pedal to stop his Vulture. After the light vanished, he is looking around for clues only to find nothing.
"Did I just enter a warp gate?", Jim said.
