A few weeks before

"Landon?" Josie walks further, following the dark figure that she suspects is her ex. The dark figure turns around and proves her suspicion right. As she gains enough distance towards Landon she darts her eyes, inspecting him. Her eyes land on a dark lump on his back, presumably his backpack. Josie decides to question him further despite already knowing the answer, "Why do you have your backpack? "

"I'm leaving."  Josie tries to search his face for any emotion, there is none. Not even guilt. He doesn't dare look at Josie, he keeps his eyes low, coward.

Truthfully, Josie didn't personally care about the fact Landon was leaving, she was more upset and angry with how Hope would feel. Josie couldn't help but curse at him, in her head, of course.

"Can you give Hope this when she wakes up?" Landon now slides one of his hands into his pocket and removes it, now holding a note.

Josie takes the note and gives Landon a small nod. He sighs, awkwardly waves and then wanders off.

Present

Alaric enters his office, not surprised to see Josie there once again. He, along with everyone else noticed Josie spending almost all her time next to Hope. Every time someone would question her about it, she would simply respond with "I owe her" and that would be that. Alaric grabbed what he needed still glancing at Josie, who was writing something he couldn't quite work out on her notepad. He left without speaking a word.

Josie tried writing down any possibilities on how to free Hope. The only ideas she had so far were speaking to Freya however, the last time Josie spoke to her it ended with Josie using her magic against Freya. The second option being, activating Hope's vampire side. It was the option most people thought to be best but Josie couldn't do that without Hope's permission and she thought it was far too dangerous.  Josie carried on with what she usually did, it became an everyday thing to go to all of her classes and then spend the rest of her time next to Hope. She knew others found it unhealthy but Josie couldn't bring herself to leave the auburn-haired girl. Her thoughts were flooded about the last time she saw Hope, who was in her head, trying to save her. She didn't realise she was crying until she felt salty water hit her lips.

That's when Josie remembers all those moments Hope would protect her. Hope was always nicer to Josie than others, softer even. It was also the moment Josie realised she would do anything to save Hope and that Freya would also do anything. It was decided, she was going to the Mikaelson home.

A few hours later - evening time

Josie had returned to her room for the first time since she had discovered Hope wasn't waking up. Lizzie clearly wasn't expecting her because when she walked through the door, Lizzie held a knife to use against the 'intruder.' Josie couldn't help but wonder why Lizzie was holding a knife when she could use literal magic.

"Oh, it's just you" Lizzie drop the knife before running up to hug her sister. She had tried to start becoming more caring for others after what happened at her funeral. "What are you doing here?"

Josie paused for a moment, debating on whether or not she should say.

"I'm going to New Orleans to speak to Freya" Lizzie just looked at Josie like she was crazy, well, maybe she was a tiny bit.

Lizzie now wore a concerned face that paired with her crossed arms. "Do I need to remind you of what happened last time?

Josie had already begun packing a small bag of clothes and any other necessities. She suspected she would only be there for a day or two, hopefully. Before she could carry on packing her twin had plucked the clothes out of her hands and into her own.

Josie decides to just answer her questions so she'll let her go. "No, you don't, but it's different this time" The brunette takes the clothes back and puts them in the bag before continuing. Lizzie just raises her eyebrow as to tell her to elaborate. "We both want to help Hope"

Lizzie pauses for a moment as if debating whether or not she should let Josie do it.

"What are you going to tell dad?" The blonde twin is now sitting on Josie's bed, sitting and watching curiously.

"I'm not telling him anything" Josie sends her sister a look as if to say, 'neither are you.'

Lizzie stands up and for a second Josie is terrified that she's going to go tell their dad. But, those fears are soon overturned after Lizzie gives Josie a side hug.

Before letting go, Lizzie speaks clearly yet quietly muttering the words, "I'll go get food for you to take"

Josie can't help but smile despite the whole circumstances of why she was leaving in the first place. Josie carries on packing everything but stops in front of her dresser when she catches the glimpse of her talisman. Flashbacks of what Hope said race to her mind. "Make quiet things heard." Josie picks it up and holds it close to her chest.

"Did Hope get you that?" It was MG. Lizzie must have told him. Josie just nods before she's pulled in a hug from him.

"Just be safe, okay?" MG now pulled away but still had his hands resting on the brunette's shoulders. She could see tears slowly forming in his eyes which only made her cry as well. As a reply, she just nods once again before giving him another hug. They were interrupted by Lizzie bringing a bag full of food.

Once they had finally finished helping Josie get ready, they snuck out to their dad's office where Hope's body once lay. MG picked Hope up and carried her. Once they had gone outside of the school, they saw their Aunt Bonnie who had agreed to help. They placed Hope in the backseats before they finally left successfully. Josie hadn't see Bonnie in years but she knew that she used to take care of her and Lizzie when they were younger.

"Why did you agree to help?" Josie was curious she couldn't help it.

"I always used to go out of my way to help my friends too and I see that in you" Bonnie takes her eyes off the road for a second just to smile at the young girl before turning her head back. Josie smiles back.

Josie and Bonnie talk here and there, whilst also playing music. Turns out they both like Taylor Swift so that was their main pick of songs. Sometimes, Josie would peer back and take a look at Hope before retreating her head again. Hope looked so peaceful yet Josie couldn't help but worry that she was actually in pain, wherever she was.

Whilst she was in the middle of staring at Hope for the millionth time, Bonnie finally caught her. "You two are close, huh?" Bonnie wore that smile that made Josie feel safe for some reason. It made the older woman seem very trustable.

"Um, sort of" Josie stares down at her lap, genuinely thinking about how close her and Hope actually were. They would always smile at each other when they would pass each other but, acquaintances do that. Her and Hope's relationship was confusing. Hope was difficult to read. They would never actually hang out but, they would always protect each other and have these moments.

Josie is pulled out of her thoughts when Bonnie questions again, "complicated?" Josie just mutters a "yeah" and chuckles. Bonnie chuckles along and Josie can tell that Bonnie has been through a lot of those "it's complicated" friendships. She's heard all about her friendship with Damon Salvatore.

Eventually, Josie falls asleep. She's been exhausted from not sleeping properly but she finally feels a little less tense knowing that she's actually doing something.
