                             Amelia

Amelia awoke to the BEEP BEEP BEEP of the alarm clock on her phone.
“Shut it, you dumb thing.” She shouted, as she rolled over and picked up her phone to silence it. Amelia set her phone back down on her nightstand and stood up to get ready for school. She didn't feel like going to school but she knew if she even thought of skipping she would be grounded for a year, so she put on her morning playlist and went to go brush her hair, teeth and to quickly put on some makeup.
Amelia’s music quickly woke her up and all thoughts of skipping school vanished as she was singing in the mirror whilst using her hairbrush as a microphone. She didn't think she was a good singer but that didn't stop her from singing as loud as she could.

The bathroom door practectely shook as someone beat on the door. Amelia quickly stopped singing and paused her music.
“How about you stop your screeching and hurry up!” Ollie, Amelia’s seven year old brother, said.
“How about you learn some patience? I was up before you.” She retorted, but she started to hurry anyway. When she opened the door, Ollie was standing right there with his weight on his left hip and his arms crossed.
“About time, Beyonce'’' Ollie said, and rushed past her and slammed the door behind him. Amelia smiled to herself. Yes, Ollie could be annoying but he was still her little brother. She was about to say something back when she felt her phone buzz in her hand and decided to leave him alone.
         Morning <3. ~Tylar
Read her notification bar. Amelia smiled at her phone. She loved Tyler's goodmorning texts.
          ~Good morning! how u sleep?
She responded and walked into her room and flopped onto her bed, thinking about her and Tyler's date night later that night. Tylar and Amelia had been dating for three months but had been friends since 7th grade. Amelia sat up and looked over to the corner of the room where the black, knee-length, high neck, dress hung on her mirror. Amelia let her mind wonder about all the possibilities of the future. Was it too soon to be thinking of the future? Maybe, but that didn't stop her from thinking about it. Amleia was the type of person who liked to have a plan, but rarely actually had one.
“Amelia! Ollie!” came her mothers voice from downstairs. “Breakfast.” Amelia sighed, sat up, grabbed her backpack and went downstairs.
As Amelia was walking down the steps, the smell of pancakes and bacon was very strong. When she got to the bottom of the steps, she walked into the dining room and sat down at one of the empty seats next to her Father, who was reading something on his laptop.
“Morning honey.” Amelia's mother called from the kitchen. “Did you get a good night's sleep?”
           “Yep.” Amelia responded cheerfully.
Amelia’s phone buzzed and she figured it was Tylar responding to the text she had sent before, so she pulled her phone out of her pocket and turned it on.
        ~Good… wbu?
Amelia smiled at her phone. As she was typing a response, out of the corner of her eye she saw her father glance up at her.
“Tylar, I'm assuming?” Her father asked. Ameila looked up at him, smiled and nodded.
           ~Good.. excited 4 our date tonight. :D~
           ~So am i~
Amelia looked up from her phone when she heard the Clunk… Clunk… Clunk of Ollie coming down the stairs. He was wearing his favorite orange and white striped polo shirt and a pair of blue jeans. Amelia always liked when he wore that shirt because it had been her favorite shirt as well when she was around four or five. Despite Ollie being seven, he was very small for his age and always had been, but what he lacked in size he made up for in intelligence.
“Goodmorning, Ollie.” Their father said, without looking up.
“Morning Dad.” Ollie responded, sitting down next to Amelia and peeking over her phone nosaly.
“Who’a textin.” He said in a mocking way, drawing the n for longer then he needed too.
“Tylar.” Amelia responded flatly, shifting so Ollie couldn't see her and Tyler's messages. Ollie shrugged and started rambling off things he learned recently to their dad. Amelia ignored him and was reading a text Tylar sent about a dream he had last night.
~ It was cool.. we both had some kind of superpowers and we had to fight this evil chick
           ~did we win? Lol
~idk. Alarm went off before we even started to fight
~aww I wanted to kick some evil butt
“Here you go.” Amelia looked up from her phone and saw her mother set down a plate that had a pancake with whipped cream on top, a piece of bacon and a sausage in front of her.
“What's all this for?” she asked curiously.
“Your birthday silly.” Her mom said with a huge smile.
Amelia laughed. “But mom, my birthday was yesterday.”
“Yeah!” Ollie piped in. “Her birthday was yesterday! How come she gets a birthday breakfast two days in a row?”
“Because you don't turn sixteen everyday now do ya? and besides,” She lowered her voice to a whisper. “I may have made some extra for you.” She booped Ollie  on the nose and walked into the kitchen, returning seconds later with a plate that had a pancake with a face made out of bacon. Ollie beamed and started eating the second their mom placed the plate on the table. Amelia smiled and also started eating.
