Chapter One

It all started in High School. It was then, when Irene made the biggest mistake of her life.

Irene was walking to school with her friend Jennie, until she saw who she thought was the man of her dreams. "Jennie, look!" Irene whisper yelled to her friend, pointing at her crush.

"It's Sanghoon!" Irene squealed, Jennie giggling. "Will you ever ask him out?" Jennie asked.

"I plan on it today.. I've liked him since last year. We've become decent friends and sometimes I throw hints, so I hope he'll accept.." Irene said as a light blush grew across her face.

"You should ask him out now! Why wait?" Jennie asked, the two giggling. "Okay, okay!" Irene said. "I'll ask right before classes start. I'll tell you how it goes in 1st period! Bye Jennie!" Irene said, walking away and Jennie waving goodbye.

Sanghoon jumped a bit as he felt a tap in his back. "Ah- hello, Irene." He turned around, Irene giggling. He's so cute. She loves scaring him like that.

"Hey Sanghoon! I need to ask you something, can you follow me?" Irene asked shyly, blushing once again.

"Of course." Sanghoon followed Irene.

Soon, the two were at a set of benches near the school that usually nobody went to. It was perfect.

"So, Sanghoon.. Ah, um.." Irene lowered her head. She didn't know how to tell him. "I have something to tell you, it's very important.. I-" Irene was cut off by Sanghoon. "Let's be quick Irene. There's class in 15 minutes." Sanghoon started. "Ah, you're right. Well.." Irene looked Sanghoon in the eyes.

"I like you, Sanghoon. I've liked you for a while now. I never thought about telling you because I thought the feeling would go away, but it never did.." Irene said shyly, Sanghoon staying quiet. "I'm sorry if this makes our friendship awkward now, but I had to get it out.." It was dead silence. "Well, I'll get going n-" Irene stopped when she felt something grab her hand.

"Irene.. You really like me?" Sanghoon asked, blushing while looking into Irene's eyes. "Yes, I've liked you for some time now.." Irene smiled softly. "I like you too, Irene." Irene's small smile turned into a huge grin. Right now, she was the happiest girl in the world.

"Will you be my boyfriend, Sanghoon?" Irene asked, holding his hands. "Of course, Irene." He smiled warmly.

From this day on, Irene's life would only go downhill.
