"you're late," she was sitting on the bus bench, looking forward. she stood up once the bus arrived, looking back at him. "well? what are you waiting for, come on," she tilted her head towards the bus, walking down the bus to find a seat. she stumbled onto someone's lap when she tried to find a seat due to the bus driver stepping on the gas pedal. y/n looked at them and stood up instantly, grasping on one of the poles while her cheeks turned red from embarrassment. "oh my god, i'm so sorry."

"just sit."

"where?"

"on my lap."

y/n widened her eyes, her cheeks turning more red than earlier. "are you sure? i really don't mind standing." he nodded, y/n cautiously sitting down, wrapping her arms around his neck. this wasn't how she imagined the beginning of the date would be, it was more nerve racking than she thought. she felt his arms wrap around her waist, causing her to instantly stiffen up.

she cleared her throat, looking down at her shoes. she occasionally shifted her weight and position to get comfortable, holding her breath for most of the bus ride. she stood up, grabbing his wrist and got out of the bus, walking into the busy street. "so, where should we begin?" she grinned up at him, seeing him point to a small convenience store. they walked over into the store, walking around the aisles, grabbing a few snacks. "i can pay."

"no, it's fine." y/n stayed silent, grabbing the bag and left, seeing a small photo booth.

"oh, let's go there!" she grabbed his wrist, fast walking over to the photo booth, dragging him in. "oh come on, kageyama, at least smile in one photo," he shook his head. she sighed and took matters into her own hands. "fine, you left me no other choice." she grabbed his chin and placed a kiss on his cheek, smiling for the last photo. she wiped the faint red lip print on his cheeks with her thumb. they got out and grabbed the photo, observing it. she split the four photos into halves, giving him two while she kept two.

kageyama looked at the photos, shoving them into his pockets. "thanks."

"for what?" she furrowed her eyebrows, not sure why he said it. surely it wasn't for the kiss on the cheek, but she shrugged it off. "oh, i promised you those curry buns, let's go." she grabbed onto his hands this time, walking into a small bakery. they sat down and had some small talk, y/n laughing occasionally.

"you're fun to be around, actually."

"i can't believe you thought i was a bore, how rude of you!" she gasped, fake crying. she heard a small laugh come out of him, y/n perking up. "you're not so bad considering how kindaichi talks about you. he says you're aggressive, but who knows, we all have different experiences with each other." she shrugged, rummaging through the bag for a drink. y/n grabbed two beverages out, handing one to him. they spent the rest of the day at the bakery, y/n noticing how it got dark quickly. she shivered as they walked over to the bus station, cursing herself for forgetting to bring a jacket.

she then felt warmth when a jacket was placed on her, stopping in her tracks. she tried to hand it back to him, but he refused to get it back. y/n wrapped the jacket around her like a blanket, getting onto the bus. they talked on the way back, y/n getting out first since her place was closer to where they went.

"don't forget to check the back of one of the photos. i'll see you around, number nine." she smiled and got off the bus.
