Even if it meant smiling and laughing in front of him, then crying when he was alone in his room. It wasn't until they were in their last year of college when Anthony called Tyler out and asked him if he would date him.

 Tyler was initially hesitant because he thought he was just being teased, but he eventually agreed after he confirmed Anthony's feelings. Anthony said that he loved him ever since they were in their second year of middle school. At first he thought he was just misunderstanding but eventually he realized his feelings and in order to not face the truth he indulged himself in alcohol and women. But no matter how many girls he dated or slept with, his heart wouldn't change. Even so, he thought his feeling were wrong, so he ignored what his heart told him and forced himself to date girls he didn't even like. He kept this ideology all the way throughout middle school, high school, and most of college. The thing that made him change his mind is, he saw Tyler kissing a man.
