Hope ~ Draco Malfoy (book 1)

Chapter 10

With easter coming up i need to make a decision, I mean how bad could Malfoy Manor really be? I know Ron and Harry would be pretty mad when they found out I was going but this is all about my happiness so i hope they would understand...

The days started getting faster and before we knew it we were heading home for Easter. Well I wasn't heading home. I was meeting Draco's parents for the first time.

We boarded to train and head off for a long journey, i thought it was best to sit with the Gryffindors for the journey so it wasn't suspicious if i was sat with Draco. Maisie knew i was going because i was suppose to spend easter with her but she begged me to go. Hermione, Ron and Harry had no idea what i was doing which i think was for the best.

We eventually arrived back at Kings Cross station, we all said our goodbyes. Maisie stayed with me until Draco came over but he brought his parents, my legs turned to jelly all i could do was stare. "Ah you two just be the Jackson's?" Lucius says to both me and Maisie, I nod quite nervously but Maisie goes on and on about how she hates dad. Narcissa pulls me aside while Draco, Maisie and Lucius are in a deep conversation.

"Are you okay, dear? You seem a little nervous." she says in her soft voice. I feel myself loosen up and felt a lot more comfortable. "Oh yeah, i'm fine now. I will admit i was a little nervous." I say to Narcissa and laugh. She laughs with me. "Honestly dear there's nothing to be afraid of. So how's your mum and dad?" She asks. I was a little confused if she knows my parents as well as Lucius says she does, surely she knows my mother died?

"Erm well Maisie and I don't really get along with dad, we never have really and Mrs Malfoy i'm not sure if you know this but my Mother passed away when Maisie and I were 9" I say to Narcissa, she laughed and placed her hand on my shoulder. "Don't be silly dear, I was with your mother just last week." I look at her in complete shock, so if my mother is alive why the hell has my dad been keeping this from me and Maisie?

I drop to the bench and sit down, my breathing was fast and heavy. Maisie runs over to me, she knew i was having a panic attack, "Draco kiss her!" she shouts to him. "What?" He replies shocked that she wants him to kiss her in front of his parents. "She's having a panic attack a way to stop it is her holding her breath normally i'd throw water over her but non of us have any. Just kiss her!" Maisie says to him. Draco grabs my face and places his lips upon mine, Maisie was right it did help and I was okay.

Draco sits beside me and puts an arm around my waist. "Is there any reason why you had the panic attack?" Maisie asked. She looked very concerned and you could see in Narcissa's face she was guilty like she had caused it. "Mothers still alive Maisie, Mrs Malfoy was with her just last week." I tell her. I see her eyes wander to the floor, she knew. She knew mother was still alive. I get up and walk down the Platform shortly followed my Draco.

I just drop to the floor and cry, Draco's arms wrapped tightly around me. "My whole life has been a lie, why would my father tell me my mother died?" I cry into Draco's shoulder. "Think of who your dad is though Beth" He replies back. I look at him confused how does he know who my dad is? "What you really think i would get involved with someone and not know there background" He laughs at me. Least my dad never scared him away like he has done with most. I'm guessing he had known all along and hasn't told anyone which makes me quite happy because it shows he likes me for me and doesn't care about who my family is.

"I'll be back in a minuet" he says to me, i give him a nod and look over to see him talking to his parents and maisie there was a lot of nodding and agreement, I wonder what he was doing? He walks back over and says "We're gonna go somewhere for a couple of days before we go to my home." I look at him confused where could he possibly want to be going?

We arrived at a posh muggle street, outside a large house. "There's someone i would like you to meet, come on" Draco says dragging my arm up to a door. He knocks and a stunning young middle aged woman opens the door. "Draco dear, how lovely to see you. Are you not with your parents?" She asks so welcoming. Draco stands to the side so the woman could see me. I recognised her, it couldn't be... "Mum?" I asked. She gasps and huge smile appears on her face. She pulls me into a hug so tight i could barley breath, but it didn't matter my mum was in fact alive. Tears streamed down my face. I was so happy.

Turns out she had met a muggle and fell in love and decided to move from the wizarding world when she had left my dad. She had 3 more children, Seb who was 10, Kiya who was 5 and Jordan who was just 9 months old. She was certain Seb would be getting his Hogwarts letter soon,

"Why did dad tell me you died mum?" I asked her quietly so no one else heard. She signalled me to follow her into the living room. "and why did Maisie know you were alive but i didn't?" I continued. She sat down and sighed. She took my hands and held the tight. "You know who is why, when you were just a baby he wanted to kill me because i refused to join the death eaters. That was until your good friend Harry had stopped him. Maisie on the other hand was with your father when this happened so he wasn't aware of who Maisie was. We made you think i had died so that when... I mean if you know who returned he wouldn't be able to get inside your head." I sighed at her that just wasn't a good enough excuse...
