Lily Evans, a graceful being one of an angel on earth. She was breathtaking, she was kind, and she was sweet. She was the sweetest person you could ever meet. It didn't matter who you were if you were a boy, or a girl, a first-year, or a seventh year. Lily loved you endlessly. She was smart, had high grades, she had a personality that everyone loved. Her words were always written in love even if it was hidden behind quiet angry ones. Lily could never be mean to someone- Lily never got tired of anyone. Well, that was until she met one James Potter. James was in Lily's year and her house. She could seemingly never escape him and his antics. And part of it was her fault. Lily chose to hang around his friends, the 'brotherhood' they had. That was Lily's choice. Lily was close with everyone it didn't matter, but she was especially close with those boys and a handful of her friends in her year. Lily loved everything, Lily loved every thought and every word anyone ever spoke. Lily was loveable. She had never, ever failed to make someone not smile. It mattered to her what people felt like. Often she would value that over herself. But that was just Lily.
The compartment on the train was quiet, you could practically hear a pin drop. The ginger sat silently on the cushioned seat her legs crossed over one and another, her eyes directed out the window. No one seemed to get to the seats yet. Because she knew that usually they were filled up. But the moments of silence were nice too. It wasn't like she was sitting with the boys it was just her and her friends. Marlene her best friend was supposed to be waiting for her, already blabbing on and on about the events of her summer but she wasn't. And Mary and Alice were supposed to come bounding in with huge smiles. But they were nowhere to be seen. Did she have the wrong compartment? Did she cause the mishap? Well, that was until she saw a familiar face. And Marlene came rounding the corner right into the compartment and down next to Lily. The pair exchanged glances before bursting out in laughter and tossing their arms around one and other. They truly missed each other. Those two were the best for friends. And even if it was just a few weeks of summer Lily missed Marlene like no other.
"You look delightful Lils!" Marlene spoke to her smiling widely as she pulled from the ginger. Her beautiful eyes tracing over the girl in front of her. Lily was truly strikingly beautiful, she seemed to age over the summer. Her face becoming more shaped and her eyes more defined, her lips still the perfect cupid's bow they always had been. Her hair long she wore it down now. She knew deep down inside James would have a riot when he saw Lily.
"You to Marls! Feels like centuries since I've seen you." Lily spoke carefully bringing her hand up to tuck a strand of her friend's hair behind her ear. Marlene and Lily had been best friends since their first year. They were practically inseparable. They were like James and Sirius in that way. You could never catch one of them without the other. Lily loved Marlene for small things. Her laugh, and her voice, the way she could talk for hours about what she cared about. Lily loved her eyes, you could get lost in them. Their interests clashed perfectly. Both of them cared so deeply about things that mattered. Never once was there a fight about things that mattered. Just the stupid things. The things you didn't need to fight about. Sometimes they bumped heads but conflicts usually never lasted that long with the two.
"Have you spoken to James?" Marlene asked as she laid back onto the cushioned seat, crossing one of her legs over the other one.
Lily scoffed and shook her head, of course, she hasn't spoken to James. They never wrote to each other. Well, James did, Lily didn't write back. That was also a lie. Lily had letters and letters she had written to James about everything that was happening in her life. But fear stopped her from sending them.
"I haven't said one word to that bloke, but I have spoken to Remus quite often this summer. He's lovely." Lily mumbled with a shrug her gentle smile only growing as she thought about the conversations between the two. They confided in one and another about the smaller things. He loved to talk to Lily and she loved to talk to him. Remus and Lily were also always very close, probably her best friend out of the group of boys they frequented so much. She cared for everyone. Lily had a loveable personality for all party's involved. There was not one person Lily did not care about. Remus had his issues, the issues he sought Lily for help with. Lily never failed to listen she loved him and she loved to listen. In the fifth year- this year. The two of them were prefects. Both of them equally fit for the spot, Remus and Lily had top marks, and attitudes willing to help people. You really couldn't pick better people. Both of them accepting others and care for younger children.
