Freezing gusts of rain swept over me, icy shots seeping through my clothes and edging into my skin. People dotted all over the street were holding brief cases and newspapers above there heads. Cheek smarting from the cold, i carried on through the thick mob of people ahead of me. I needed to get there...no I didn't have enough time to study the crippled faces of everyone enduring the terrible weather. I looked down at my wrist, the crimson scars etched into my skin, I felt my eyes dart to the watch face gleaming back at me.
'10:53'
Slowly I felt my eyes water, this was my chance, my escape from my reality and I'd somehow blown it...
Breathing ever so rapid, I yanked my wrist peeling the red and green straps of my dry skin.
"There goes the Gucci watch," I smirked, thrusting it as forcefully as I could into the waterlogged street. It was fine though, just another dull/unnecessary item I'd stolen at some point over the years. At times it was easier to laugh on the outside and save the distraught exterior for a later date. Steadily, I sat my self down on the pavement, it was like one of those main character moments, overly overthinking you could say. A broad grey blanket drifted over me, dampening the mood ever so further. I wasn't the only person with an agitated look written over their face; I couldn't help but notice every middle age man walking past slightly graying hair, polished shoes, abnormal jumpers/blazers and wrinkles etching into there faces. Everyone looked the same here: ageing, fatigued... the list could go on. There was one man who looked different, a smile plastered all over his face.
"Oh Fred George, what would you mother say?" He chortled.
I could see more of them now, a whole family with red flaming hair, trolleys and a scruffy looking owl.
I had to sieze my opportunity, I looked like an old duffer here with a truck too heavy to lift, an owl and pocketful of galleons
I watched as the family's heads bobbed up and down. A flicker of jealously gradually overwhelmed me...
Arms flailing I sprinted over to them, my feet sliding along the pavings.
"Wait!" I screamed, gasping for air.
