<Y/N and Shinsou had just finished their food and continued to talk amongst themselves as they finished their drinks and paid>

~Y/N's POV~

We've only gone a little ways down the street to this small restaurant and everything around was so pretty to look at. Excitement began to build up in my chest as Shinsou began naming off a few places we'd go to. I just couldn't wait anymore!

"PFFT- Y/N are you okay? Do you need to use the restroom or something?" Shinsou let out a small chuckle.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just really excited!! The way you described the river passing through the heart of the town, the lookout from the top of the clocktower, and everything else! My imagination is running wild!"

"Haha, okay then. I'll pay for the food and then we can go." He responds, reaching for his wallet.

"NUH UH!! No you don't! I'm paying!!"

"W-what? No.. I can pay, I brought you out here"

-

*Bickering continues about who would pay*

The waitress came by and tried to ask if everything was alright but paused once she realized what we were arguing about. "Ah, young love." She says, catching us both off guard.

"I- uh... I'll pay this time, you can pay next time. How about that?" Shinsou says, his words coming faster as he reached his hand to the back of his neck.

"Y-yea sure" I muttered out, my face had turned completely red.

-

I could feel the tension that had fallen between us. - "Young love?" What could she have mea- Wait... S-she thought we were together... I- I mean we were... but only as friends, right? There's no way he could reciprocate my feelings -

Our receipt was brought back to us and just as fast as we came, we left the building. A rather awkward silence filled the air around us until Shinsou had spoken up.

"S-sorry..." his voice slightly shaky.

"What for? It wasn't your fault. I started it—" I placed my hand on his shoulder to reassure him.

He didn't respond at first so we continued walking. I saw decorative lights, of course they weren't on yet, but maybe we can see them on the way back. The sun appears to be setting already, perhaps 2 hours from touching the horizon. We walked along a dirt path when I began to see cherry blossom petals fluttering in the wind.

Shinsou was walking behind me now, still keeping up, just not side by side. Suddenly, I felt his hands cover my eyes.

"AHHH! Shinsou!! W-what are you-" I began to say before being cut off by his soft, enchanting voice.

"Shh, calm down. Don't peek, okay? Listen closely." He whispered in my ear.

I closed my eyes and began to focus on the sound of my surroundings. The wind rustling the leaves of the trees, the faint sound of the busy roads, my own heartbeat accompanied by Shinsou's, and... running water?
