Chapter 4 ~ New Freak?

[Morgue's POV]

"I hate everything," my raspy voice said as I sat at the dinner table between Creature and Brianna.

"Morgue, honey, the board," Danielle reminded me.

I groaned. She has me using a board to communicate while I'm on vocal rest.

"Oh come on, there's been worse cases of love at first sight," Murrugun laughed. "Like those cancer kids from that emotionally fucked up book."

"You mean The Fault in Our Stars?" Ali asked.

"Yeah, that's one," he said, corking down some spaghetti.

I grabbed the bored and wrote.

"No cancer is involved here, though. Only me nearly bashing her skull in with a ball that nearly killed ME, because SOMEONE decided to give me the Heimlich maneuver out of no where."

"Well SORRY for saving your life," Murrugun said,

"Look, it'll be okay. She's coming by next week, and she'll be joining us on the team," Breeana said.

I scrunch my eyebrows together and wrote on the board.

She's a freak like us?

"Yeah, she does sword swallowing and stuff like you or Asia, but she has extreme methods that even made Creature faint," Todd said.

"Oh god, please don't remind me. That video made me throw up," he said.

"We can meet her tomorrow and she'll start Monday," Todd said. "Gives Morgue enough time to rest his throat after today's incident."

"Hopefully he doesn't choke on words this time," Murrugun joked and him, Creature, and Phoenix burst out laughing.

I grabbed my board and drew a quick middle finger, showing it to them.

"Morgue!" Danielle said as the girls burst out laughing.

I smiled cheekily as we continued eating.

Murrugun is right though. Hopefully I get the guts to say something. She's just so beautiful.
