If I kiss you, you're dead

"Queen? Em you're a......PRINCESS?" Aiden asked confused, shocked and angry at the same time.

"Well, NO....yessss, my father is King soooo......"

"You're a PRINCESS?"

"God Aiden stop saying princess okay......yes I'm a....that what you just said."

"God, you can't even say it can you," he said in a tone I did not really like.

"What about me I'm a princess," Tess chimed in. I give her a hard stare.

"Not helping Tess," I say through my teeth.

"Okay dude, she's a princess.....a-mer-maid-pri-nc-ess," Tess said slowly to Aiden, "she's-going-to-be-Queen, if she hurries her tail up."  And I thought I was something.

"Okay.....I got it," Aiden said shaking his head.

"You do?" I asked. I studied his face. Last time he was like this well he found out I had a tail, talk about drama queen. Got over it, he did but.......

"EM, YOU ARE-" he stopped. He took a deep breath and I see him try to calm himself.

"Drama Queen?" Tess asked. I shake my head.

I turn to the horizon and the sky is more purple than red. 

"We have to hurry before the sun completely disappears," Tess says.

"I know."

"Why is that?" Aiden said in a slightly now calm voice. 

"When the sun sets on land, the sun rises under water," Tess answered Aiden. He shakes his head absorbing that other new found knowledge.

"What are you going to do with Drama Queen here," Tess asks, "wiping his memory are we?" Tess adds giving Aiden a sly look. His face turned frightened.

"I can't wipe his memory Tess," I say. I was planning to but Aiden and I we're something.

"I can," my sister volunteered. 

"You can't either."

"Yeah no wiping of memories okay," Aiden said. 

"So we're bringing back a souvenier.....Dad is going to go barnacles on your tail," Tess remarked.

"Where am I going?" Aiden asked.

"With us underwater, to our Kingdom," I say to him.

"Okay cool, how? I can't swim underwater for long."

"We have a trick," I smile at him and then I realized, "Tess YOU have to kiss him."

"WHAT!"

"WHAT!"

"Umm, why does she have to kiss me,?" Aiden asked.

"Hey! Drama Boy, watch it," Tess yelled at him. 

"If I kiss you, you're dead," I tell him.

"Huh, but we've kissed already," he said shyly.

"Yes but my flower hadn't bloom, if I do you die and the only way to let you come with us is if Tess kisses you," I say.

"Okay.....how does this work?" he asks.

"Once she kisses you, you'll be one of us....with a tail."

"A merman?"

"Yes, a merman, you'll be able to breathe swim, everything, when you're ready we'll bring you back to land and you'll have your legs again just know that when we bring you back-,"

"Yeah?"

"Nevermind," I lied.

"Pucker up Drama Boy," Tess said. 

I'm not going to enjoy this. 

We all walked closer to the water. 

"I'll go first, meet me at the first current," I tell them.

I let the water touch my feet. I watch Tess and Aiden. She said something and I see him laugh. Damn Tess stop flirting with him. The water wraps around my legs and I see my scales start to appear. I really did miss this.
