It started in December of 2023.

A couple of days before Christmas Camryn began complaining about her head hurting and constantly being dizzy. She convinced Harry that it was nothing, just the stress of the holidays. She told him not to worry.

And he didn't.

Until on Christmas Eve when he watched Camryn fall over with a three year old Bindi in her arms after a bad dizzy spell had hit her.

They both knew something was wrong, but they didn't want to admit it.

So they didn't.

They had a normal Christmas for the kids, everyone was so happy and excited about the new toys and gadgets they had gotten, staying up late that night to play with them.

But what the kids didn't know is that Harry and Camryn had scheduled an appointment with the neurologist for two days after Christmas.

And when the 27th came, they got news that no one, no matter how famous you are, is prepared to hear.

"It's a tumor- it's inoperable- I'm so sorry."

For as long as he lives he'll never forget the numbness that fell over his body. It wasn't even a sadness or anger- those came later- it was just a numbness.

Camryn was silent on the drive home, and she didn't even bring up the fact that he took the long way home. She was grateful in fact, because that meant her babies at home could have a few more minutes of blissful innocence before she got home. A few more minutes of not having to worry about anything except what cartoon was on next. A few more minutes of believing that their parents were going to live forever.

They got home to Anne and the kids and Anne, using the innate senses that only mothers have, knew immediately that something was wrong. However, as she, Harry, and Camryn walked into Harry's home office to talk, she could have never guessed the thing that Harry was about to tell her.

For Anne, the grief hit her immediately, causing her to break down into sobs. Harry and Camryn however, remained numb and just held her hands as she cried.

Next, came the worst part of it all. Telling the kids who ranged in age from 12 to 3. How do you tell kids that their mother is dying? There's no right way to do it, Harry decides.

They gather the kids in the living room. Darcy is old enough to realize that something is wrong and immediately sits down next to her mum and grabs her hand. Bindi comes to sit on Camryn's lap as Camryn buries her face into Bindi's hair.

"Guys,"Harry begins but scares himself, he's never heard his voice so strained. "I want you to listen very carefully, okay?" He looks at all of the kids who nod their heads in compliance looking between their parents. "Mumma is sick,"Harry continues, "very sick. She has a tumor in her brain. That's why she's been so dizzy the past couple of days."

A deafening silence hits the room as Harry looks at all of the kids. Darcy has tears rolling down her face, she's one of the only kids who's old enough to comprehend the weight of this diagnosis.

"But, the doctors are smart, right?"Bowie's little voice pipes up, "they'll fix mumma."

And that is when the emotions that Harry has been numb from for the past two hours come pouring through. He completely loses it, and he wishes he didn't because he wants to remain strong for the kids. He doesn't want them to see him cry. He doesn't want to scare them. He trembles next to Camryn, leaning forward with his face in his hands trying desperately to compose himself.

That's when Camryn talks for the first time in these two hours. "No baby,"she quietly says, "the doctors can't fix me. They can't do surgery."

"Then what?"Lennon challenges, "what happens?"
