Camilla, otherwise known as Cami, and her two best friends, Izuku and Shoto, were sitting in her living room watching her 1 year old daughter Lily play with her toys. Cami's half red and half black hair was up in a messy bun and she was in an over sized hoodie and sweats. Her eyes were worn out and tired from the long sleepless nights she had with Lily. And the lecture she was getting from Izuku and Shoto wasn't helping one bit.
"Cami you need to find a stable job. You can't keep going night to night with gigs, you need to find somewhere permanent." She was an aspiring singer and songwriter, but her dream wasn't really going anywhere. She hadn't gotten anyone who wanted to be her record label.
"Izu, babe, I love you. But you can stop worrying. I'm fine. I've got the job at the cafe and the gigs I do get are enough to get me and Lily by." Cami rubbed the bridge of her nose to try and push back the on coming headache.
"We're your best friends Cami we're always gonna worry about you." Izuku sternly told her. He was leaning on Shoto who had his back to the arm rest and had an arm slung around Izuku's waist and his head resting on his shoulder.
"Cami we just want to make sure you guys are ok." He finally gave his input on the situation. Lily's toys clacked together and Cami's eyes stayed glued to her.
"Guys seriously we're fine. I've got rent and food covered. The job at the cafe works great. They give me a little extra because they understand I'm a single mom. And with the gigs one or twice a week it covers the rest of our expenses." Cami sighed. Izuku opened his mouth to continue but, thankfully, her phone started to ring. She looked at the caller ID and saw that it was her friend Mina.
"Hold on for a sec." She answered the phone and she could see that both of the boys had small frowns on their faces. But Cami could honestly care less. "Hey wifey. What's up?" She greeted her pink haired friend.
"Hey love. Do you and Lily want to come and meet up with me at the mall right now?" Mina asked excitedly. In the background Cami could hear people talking and she could only assume that the girl was already at the mall.
"Yea sure. That sounds great. Let me get us ready, I should be there in like a half hour or so." Cami said getting up to grab Lily.
"Yay! Ok. I'll see you guys soon. Text me when you get here I'll come get you guys. Oh! And before I forget, I have a couple of my other friends here, just so you know." Lily cooed as Cami picked her up off the ground and made her way to the nursery.
"That's fine. Ok, I should get going. I've gotta change Lily." Cami said while putting her down on her changing table and grabbing an outfit for her.
"Ok ok. I'll let you go. Bye loves." Mina exclaimed.
"Bye love." She hung up and finished getting Lily ready. She almost forgot that Izuku and Shoto were still there until she heard footsteps coming to the room.
"Where are you going?" Shoto's monotone voice asked.
"Mina invited me and Lily to the mall." Cami said short and a little bitterly. She hated how they both acted like her parents. And not like the supporting friends she needed. She understood that they were only looking out for her but she didn't need parents. She had gotten this far in life without them. She needed her best friends to help push her towards her dreams and support her all the way.
"Ok. Here let me finish up getting her ready. You go get yourself ready ok." Shoto came up and moved Cami's hand gently from Lily.
"Ok." She just walked out of the room and into her's without much of a fight. She quickly threw on a graphic tee and black ripped jeans. She pulled on her Doc Martins and let down her bun. Her hair cascaded down to land nicely on her shoulders and curled a bit. She quickly put on some mascara and a clear lip gloss, grabbed her bag, threw on her white bucket hat, and made her way out to the living room where she assumed Shoto was waiting for her with Lily.
"Don't think that you got out of this just yet Cami." Izuku warned as she grabbed Lily and her baby bag from Shoto.
"Whatever Izu." She rolled her eyes and looked at Sho with a forced smile. "Thank you Sho for getting her ready. Say goodbye to uncle Sho and uncle Izu." Lily babbled what they could only assume was a goodbye and waved to the two men.
"Bye baby." Izuku cooed and smiled.
"Bye Lil." Shoto kissed her forehead and smiled a faint smile. Cami quickly grabbed her car keys and made her way down to her car.
