Melodifestivalen 1973

Part 3

"Darling, it's time to wake up" Björn said and stroked Agnetha's cheek. She opened up her eyes, and the first thing she saw was Björn. They smiled against each other. "I love to wake up opposite the most amazing man in the world" she said and gave him a kiss. "What time is it?"

"Six o'clock..."

"God..."

"We have an interview half past seven... We're first out of the artists to do that." Agnetha sigh and did her best to come up from the bed. "I've started to be a bit irritable of this fucking belly!! Can't that baby come soon?!"

"Schh... Don't say so! Then maybe it comes today... And you, don't learn the child bad words even before it's born..." Björn laughed, and Agnetha gave him a tired smile.

They met Frida and Benny in the hotel restaurant to eat breakfast. After breakfast it was time to go to the arena where Melodifestivalen would be. But first they had a short interview before they started to rehearse.

"Hello! Sit down please" the interviewer said, and they sat down in the red couch. "So, first out. How does it feel?!"

"Oh, that question..." Frida said ironic, and put on a smile to make him know it was a joke. All laughed. "Yeah, it use to be the first question" Benny said. "When I think about it, yeah..." the interviewer said with a smile. "But serious now... How are you? Are you prepared?"

"No, not really!" Frida joked. "Just kidding... Yeah, I think we are. We've worked a lot with the song."

"And the song is called Ring Ring?"

"Yeah" Björn answered. "It's a strong song, I really believe in it..."

"May you sing a bit?"

Frida, Benny, Agnetha and Björn started to hum a little bit on the refrain. "Sounds good!"

"Thank you!"

"It was the song, but how are you feeling before this competition?" he wondered.

"Of course it's nervous!" Frida exclaimed. Benny agreed. "Yes... Even if we've been on stage quite many times before... I mean, this is Sweden's biggest music competition!"

The interviewer turned his head against Agnetha and Björn.

"And the prospective parents then? How are you feeling?"

"Good, thanks!" Agnetha answered. "But of course it's nervous... And especially because of the baby in our case. He or she is supposed to come soon. Think if it comes during this?!"

"When do you think the baby comes?"

"Not today hopefully..." Björn said and laughed a bit.

"No, it would be quite hard..." he answered with a smile.

"Okay. Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid. Thank you for coming!"

It was soon time for them to enter the stage. They were in their loge and got dressed when a woman who worked backstage suddenly came and open up the door with a great power. She looked around the room, and then looked confused. "The baby?"

"What?"

"We heard a crying baby..." All four started to laugh.

"No! I'm fine and there's no baby yet" Agnetha said and tried to hide her laugh. "But I heard something... Maybe it was just someone who shouted. Sorry, I'm so nervous about the baby!"

"It's okay. Thank you for caring" Björn said. The woman leaved, but then she came in again. "Forgot. On stage in six."

"Okay, thank you" Benny said.

"Where is Stikkan?" Frida wondered. "He should be here by now..."

"Don't know. He said that he would come here late, but now it's ridiculous" Benny answered.

They stood behind the stage, and it was three minutes left. Then Stikkan came running through the corridor. "Hi, guys! Sorry, I'm late."

"It's okay" Björn said.

"And now it's time for Björn&Benny, Agnetha&Anni-Frid with Ring Ring!" they heard the man in the speaker said.
