Ruegard: Christmas time

  Silena's POV

I walked into the arena, looking for Clarisse. Then I spotted her spinning her staff. I ran up to her waving, "Hey Clarisse!" She stopped spinning the staff and eyed me, "Beauregard." I asked shaking my head "Why don't you just call me Silena? It's not that hard." I looked down hoping I didn't make her feel uncomfortable. "Yes, I do know that," she responded. I looked back up and cleared my throat, "Um anyways I just wanted to tell you that the Aphrodite cabin will partner up with you for capture the flag tomorrow!" She smirked and held her hand out for me to shake. I shook it, then she said "Awesome, now we have an actual chance of winning."

I tilted my head, "An actual chance?" "We were paired with the Hypnos cabin and everyone knows that- that they always sleep through capture the flag," I finished. "Oh my gods, I didn't mean to interrupt, sorry!" She nodded, "Yep got that. Well, I'm gonna continue training." "Right, of course, I'll leave you to it," I answered. I started walking away and heard Clarisse call, "Hey! Silena, you look nice in that dress." I blushed "Um thank you!" I quickly ran out of the arena smiling.

I looked back at the arena grinning like an idiot and ran right into somebody. "AH, I am so sorry!" "Hey, Silena." Katie Gardener said rubbing her head. I bit my lip "Sorry!! I wasn't looking where I was going," I apologized. "I could see that you were smiling like your life depended on it." she joked ( I think she was joking at least). I realized that I was still smiling and stopped. "No need to stop just because of me!" Katie implied. I replied "No it's fine. My face would have gotten tired if I continued," I bit my lip realizing how weird that sounded. "Well then...I better go feed the pegasi now. I'll catch you later," she began to skip to the stables.

I walked into the aphrodite cabin and sat down on my bed. "You're radiating very happy energy, why?" one of my sisters' Drew asked. I glanced at her and thought of an excuse, "Because it's almost Christmas?" She studied me "Was that a question? And I am not dumb Silena, your obviously crushing on someone!" I stood up avoiding her and grabbed some Christmas decorations, "I have to go help decorate the dining hall now, so I will see you tonight." I said leaving the cabin.

I hurried to the dining hall when I got there I saw a few campers who I didn't know, then I spotted Percy and Annabeth. They saw me and walked up holding hands, "Hey Silena," Annabeth smiled. "Hi! Are you guys helping set up decorations orrr?" I asked. Percy shook his head, "No we would but Annabeth and I are going to hang out at the lake for a while-" "We can help if you want us to, don't be rude Percy," Annabeth elbowed. I chuckled "You guys are too cute, but we don't need your help." I looked around "There are definitely enough campers here, go have fun". Percy started walking but Annabeth let go of his hand and he pouted.

"I'm coming seaweed brain!" she ran off waving. I smiled and jogged over to the group of campers that were going to help. "Hi everyone, some of you may know me but if you don't, my name is Silena, head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin. There are a few boxes around the room that have decorations in them, so if you want you can help put them up. And if you are a Demeter kid, just put poinsettias everywhere," I stated. A few kids gave approval and others began to hang stockings and mistletoe. I went ahead and grabbed the Christmas lights, then I headed to the entrance of the dining hall. Before exiting I quickly dragged a chair out.

When I got outside I placed the stepstool and began putting up the lights. I was almost finished, when I tripped over my feet and almost hit the ground. I felt someones arms around my shoulders, "You okay there Beauregard?" Clarisse asked. I stood up and laughed awkwardly, "Oh hey Clarisse, um thank you for catching me." Clarisse stood in front of me and said "You could've asked someone to help you put up the lights-" "I just tripped over my feet" I added. "But you could've gotten hurt." she crossed her arms. (awww she was worried about me, wait- Clarisse worried about someone, thats not right.)

"I'm fine La Rue," I said with an attitude. "Hm La Rue? Are you trying to be exactly like me?" She asked witha smirk. I rolled my eyes and responded, "No, of course not." "What are you doing here anyways?" I questioned. She answered with "Well I'm allowed to be here and help right?" I sighed, "Yes of course." "Well then, put me to work," she said. I pointed at the boxes sitting around outside, "I can help you deliver the decorations to the cabins." She went to the boxes and picked them up, then she started to head to the cabins without a word. "Hey! Hey, I said I would help!" I called after her. No response. I groaned and ran after her.
