Y/n's pov

I searched my way through the house, looking for any sign of my parents. Im sweating, coughing and limping.

Its hot, Its so damn hot.

I searched every room of the house and I still haven't found them. I cant see anything, There is so much smoke.

I think i'm going to pass out.

"Y/n"

I recognise that voice.

"Im here"

Where, where are you?

I tried following the voice as it leads me through the house.

"Im outside, come to me."

Are they outside? Are they safe?

I finally found my way out of the house. As I dragged my feet across the cold pavement.

Mom? Dad? Where are you?

"Why did you leave us here?"

What?

My eyes landed on my mother inside the house. She's still inside!

"This is all your fault" Are the last words that came out of her mouth before the house collapsed in flames.

*Beep beep*

I jolted awake sitting straight up in my bed. Im panting and sweating. I tried to calm myself down as I made my way to the bathroom and splashed some cold water on my face. I looked in the mirror. My face is pale, and my eyes are baggy and red. I looked like I haven't slept in days.

Who am I kidding I haven't slept for weeks

I got myself ready and went back to the bedroom. I looked around my room and quickly threw on my uniform before making my way to kitchen downstairs.  As I entered the kitchen, my eyes met my aunt sitting at the counter drinking from a coffee mug.

"Good morning, have you slept well?"

I turned my head to look at her with a expressionless face. Her face turned to a sympathetic smile.

"Again? It hasn't stopped for weeks. Should I call the school for you to stay home?"

"No its fine, I cant miss the first school day and haven't left the house in a while. Maybe its for the better to go to school."

"And you get to see the boys again"

Oh yeah the boys

"I don't know about that. I'm scared to see them again auntie. What if they're mad at me? I don't blame them, I ignored them and pushed them away from me when I needed them the most."

"And they will understand. Yes pushing them away was a harsh move but they understand where you came from. I know them, they care too much about you especially Akaashi. That boy is head over heels for you. Have you seen the way he looked at you?"

My face flushed a deep red colour at the comment. "Stop you don't know that. Leave the poor boy alone."

And she kept blabbering about how Akaashi is the perfect man for me. Damn woman, give me a f*king break.

"I can't wait till you two get married! You will have such a lovely kid-"

"OBA STOP!" I whined.

As I walk through the hallways of Fukurodani High, I spot two owls gazing through the crowd curiously. Looking for a certain someone. As soon as their eyes land on me, they immediately made their way over to me without hesitating.

"Y/N CHANNN!"

"Bokuto-san please calm down."

A big spiky haired owl ran his way over to me and pulled me into a big hug.

"Y/n chan I missed you so much!"
He said as he pulled me in tighter.

"Yes Bokuto I missed you too but if you keep screaming like that people will look at us."
I explained to him while looking around, and there were indeed people staring at us. As I let go of the hug I feel myself get pulled in another hug. But this one is different. Its a very calm and gentle hug like the other person is made of glass, and could break any moment.

"Its nice to see you again y/n"

I looked up to the black haired setter before replying. "You too Akaashi." I buried my head Into his warm chest as he strokes my hair.

He smelled like vanilla. Oh how I missed that smell. (A/N : how do y'all think he smells? Im curious..)

After a long moment of embracing each other. The bell cut off our moment.

Akaashi's pov
*before school*

The first day of school. I can't wait to see her again. I wonder if she's doing okay, she hasn't contacted us all summer.

"Do you think she'll be there?"

I turned my head to the spiky haired male next to me. As we're walking to school.

"I dont know Bokuto - san. It has been rough year for her."

"It has been one year since that tragic day. No one would take something like that easy. But I wish she just didn't shut us out. We could've been there for her." Said Bokuto.

she could've called or text me. Just letting me know if she's doing okay. So I could just hold her and tell everything is alright.

"I know how you feel about her Akaashi. Its so obvious."

"Bokuto please not now-

"No let me finish. I see that look on your face when you're with her. And she has the same look too. She's always happy when she's with you Akaashi. Im just saying that you two need each other and maybe once we see her you can make her happy again."

Make her happy again.

Thats what im going to do. But this time I won't let her slip out of my hands again. Because once I let her fly away.

She might break
