There are countless of photos like this that can be found on the internet. Well it's a picture of the sky, it's not something unique. But hey! It's the sunset, who wouldn't want to take this beautiful scenery right?
But compared to those photos, this one is pretty mediocre. Yeah the color looks nice. There are trees and cable wires. And wow, look at that glass soda bottle, my friend doesn't even bother to move it out of the way when he was taking this picture.
And can you see those birds? Don't worry, I can't see them either. How can I? They just look like specks of dust through those camera lenses. You'll only know they were birds if you were there.
Well to summarize, it's not really a good photo.
Despite all of that though, for some reason, whenever I look at this picture things starts to get lively.
The sound of the leaves rustling and the chirping of those birds that looks like dust on the picture becomes vivid.
That sparkling sound of a newly opened bottle of soda as well as the noise of opening that big pack of crunchy Chicharon was clear. I can even smell that sour green mangoes while we peel it as well as that signature smell of the bagoong.
When the foods are already there, I remembered how we started eating and talking non stop about random topics. Such as that terror teacher we have, that upcoming research defense, that newly released film, oh, and one of us even mentioned that new resort that opened near the town.
We started talking about going there, and we were setting plans when suddenly one of us cursed.
He called us slowly and started pointing at our backs. I don't know why but the set up feels so much like horror.
He continuously points at it without speaking, obviously fazed by what he's seeing. And when we finally looked, that's when the chaos starts.
Well it's just a cockroach sticking at the wall. But the news surprised most of my friends that one of us started jumping around.
Some of us run and even bumped at the table, causing the soda to spill everywhere.
One of us even fell down and broke a chair. Some climbed up to the railings. And there are few who are like me, just sitting on our spot, laughing the hell out of ourselves because of these guys who are panicking at the mere sight of an insect.
When one of us finally took it out, we fell into a moment of silence.
After that we all look into each others eyes and started laughing. We just laughed there until we get tired.
It was so chaotic, yet it was so fun.
It was something messy and simple, yet beautiful and priceless at the same time.
The photo may not capture how magnificent were the skies that day, but it was able to capture my life's unforgettable moments.
