The car shook as I bounced my leg up and down. I breathed heavily, holding on to my stuffed backpack, and closed my eyes.

I was moving cities, getting all my stuff packed in big blue suitcases,  going to my car and getting ready to leave only to be stopped by some guy, asking me to take him to someone's house. There I was, sat at the dark blue house. He told me nothing. No name, no reason. I couldn't even see his face fully.

Maybe I'm overthinking. Nothing bad has happened in the town before. Maybe he just needed a ride to his friend's.

I quickly hear the back car door open and shut quickly. "Okay, you can go back to your house. Thanks for the ride, man."

I felt myself gasp for air quietly. Something seemed frantic and off.

"Okay. It's no problem."

A sigh came from his mouth as he sat back in his seat, the mask still covering his face.

"What's the mask for?"

"Not feelimg great. Don't wanna get anyone sick, do I?"

I nodded. The silence felt not only awkward but scary. Thankfully, I had just pulled into my driveway.

"Thanks man" I heard as the door open and shut once more. I took my hands off the wheel and relaxed my body. I turned to try to see him but he was no longer there.

Maybe it wasn't as bad as I felt like it was. Maybe I was just helping a neighbor. Maybe it didn't even happen at all.
