AMELIE ADLER: an industrious soul one may describe her as. She wanted something, she worked for it, making sure she received absolutely zero charity from others. The one thing Amelie hated most in the entire world was pity.
Pity is the easy way out of things in her eyes. Having stuff handed to you on a silver platter just because you have a traumatic and depressing story to tell others. Guilting them into giving you a head start to the finish line.
This work ethic is what makes Amelie one of the most immeasurable ballerinas one could ever see. Well, that and all the pressure she goes under each and every day of her life.

Adler is a very well-known name in the history of Archer School of Ballet. Almost her entire family danced in the academy. Her grandmother, aunts, mom, brothers, sisters. All of them danced at Archer. So of course, Amelie had to dance there also.
Amelie's mother first put her in ballet classes seven days after her third birthday. She seemed to be able to chaîné before she could even walk.
She was shipped away from Brooklyn, New York to Chicago, Illinois when she was hardly out of elementary school to attend the academy. Amelie was one of the two youngest dancers in the classes. Her and her former best friend/roomate Cassie Shore.
--
Amelie and Cassie were extremely close for the first two years they attended the academy. They did what normal tween girls did. Gossip, read magazines, braided and styled each other's hair. But all this changed when expectations of having lead roles in every single dance production kicked in.
Being the two top dancers in the classes, Cassie and Amelie had to fight to keep their reputations of being winners afloat. This competitive nature caused a rivalry between the girls. It was fine at first. They would keep their dance lives separate from their friendship but as more productions and competitions went by, the more toxic the friendship became.
But one incident snipped the tiny thread holding the relationship together. Right before an audition for the newest dance recital, Cassie snapped the shank to Amelie's pointe shoe which is the support to the shoe. At that moment, the dynasty of Amelie and Cassie had fallen.
