The Note

Inside that bag was a little note, neatly folded up.

Hajime's curiosity pushed him, He reached into the bag, took it out, and quickly open it up

He peered in. Inside it read

"Hello, Hajime"

Chaiki's handwriting

Hajime could tell it was her handwriting because-

...

Because he recognized it from..

From Monomi's note..book..

That fucking notebook

Swallowing hard, he continued.

Now wasn't the time

"If you're reading this note, and I'm assuming it's you who's reading this note, than I'm guessing you know by know that I'm the traitor probably dead by now

I really, really wish I could be there to tell you this in person, but

I'm sorry

I'm so sorry

I wanted to tell you this before, on the day I confessed to you... but you were just so happy, and I was too, and the moment was so perfect

I- I really didn't have the strength to say anything, I think

So I just went along, hoping that I'd be able to tell you later

But the time never came

I'm sorry.. I just..I didn't know what to do

I'm not good with humans

I'm guessing that now.. you're probably really angry with me right now, I think I would be angry too

And I don't think you'll ever forgive me

I know that I won't be able to forgive me

I just... I really wish I didn't do this to you, I think I-

I'm sorry

-Chiaki"

Hajime stared at the note, blank faced. Utterly unable to put together any thoughts

He reread the note

Again and again

Again and again

Again and again

Hajime closed his eyes, trying to contain his tears, but two stray drops, clear like the purest glass, fell down
Wet patches came on the note.......He couldn't help it
Hajime crumpled up the note and threw it away
It was horrible

He held his head in his hands, convulsing and shaking as the true weight of the day fell upon him. He kept banging his head with his hand, trying to get his emotions out some way, any way. He couldn't handle this all alone, all by himself. He tried his best not to

but all he could think about was Chiaki. He snivelled, thinking of the fact that he'd never see her in the playing games by herself in the hotel lobby. He quivered imagining her room without her, and finally, when he realized that he'd never see her sweet smile which pushed him on, her encouragement during the class trial, her dozing off everywhere that Hajime just couldn't help but grin at. He gave up on holding back

He curled up into a ball and held his knees as close as he could to his chest while leaning his head on them

Chiaki was right

He was angry

Angry at Nagito for devising such a cruel trick to trap them

Angry at Monokuma for choosing such an absolutely agonizing way of executing Chiaki

Angry at Chiaki for making him be the one to rally everyone to vote for her

And finally

Angry at himself for doing something so awful
