Why did he feel like he was about to have a panic attack...

A voice suddenly echoed through the room as the little grey fur ball escaped from his restraints.
"Then I'll take their place!"

The statement surprised all the people who heard it, but (name) gave no reaction. He could barely even hear what Grim had said, it was all just background noise in his head with his beating heart and shaky breath in the forefront.
It took nearly all of his self control to stop himself from curling into a ball and breaking down, seeing as that was his instinct reaction to situations like these, but a hand placed on the little flower boy's shoulder made him snap out of his internal conflict.

"Are you alright?" A student softly asked with concern in his voice. (Name) recognised that voice, it was the cheerful one he overheard outside of the hall, so he turned his head to reveal his eyes from under his hood.

Slowly, he nodded in response and took a deep breath to calm his anxious soul.
"Thank you..." He quietly whispered.
The other boy smiled at this, patting his shoulder to express his joy.

Though he couldn't identify much from under the stranger's ceremonial garb, (name) could spot red eyes and white hair, features which he decided to take note of since he seemed nice.
But before the pair could continue any type of conversation, a certain little creature yelled out towards the sea of students, more specifically, the headmaster among them.

"If you need proof, I'll show you right now!"

Fire soon grew along the fur of his arms, spreading down to his paws and then the rest of his body.
(Name) gasped at this sight, fully aware of what was about to happen. So he ran at full speed towards the grey cat and grabbed him in his arms, lifting him high up into the air so he couldn't set anything on fire. However, doing such a thing required him to drop his bouquet, which sent each flower flying in different directions as the boy swept forward.

Luckily, the kind student managed to catch one before it flew off with its brethren. It was a white rose, an easy to identify flower with soft petals and a feeling of innocence, the red eyed boy couldn't help but gaze at it in admiration for it's sweet beauty.

"Gah! Put me down, human!" Grim yelled at (name), flailing his limbs around like a child throwing a tantrum.

"I- I-... I can't do that." The boy retorted, though it took him a while to string the words together. However, did nothing to calm the grey creature, as it struggled even harder in the male's grip and the flames on it's body that had previously calmed down resurfaced even stronger. Grim raised his paws, preparing to set the male's sleeves on fire, which would give him a chance to escape.

Luckily, before that could happen, one of the students in the crowd yelled out in a bellowing voice.
"Off with your head!"
Suddenly, a strange collar appeared around the fire cat's neck, which made the blue flames disappear before they could even graze (name)'s robes.

"Nygah! The hell is this!?" Grim exclaimed in confusion, grabbing the restraint and shifting it around in hopes of getting it off.

"Laws of the Queen of Hearts - Number 23" The student spoke, his voice holding the authority of a king as he reprimanded the creature. "One shall never bring a cat into a festival. You being a cat means you've broken that rule, as such I will have you leave at once."

"But I'm not a cat!" Grim yelled in defence and then huffed. "I'll just burn this collar right off and- ... w-wait! I can't use my fire!"

The red haired male gave a wicked smile at the animal's realisation. "You won't be able to use any magic until I remove that collar from you. In other words, you'll be just like an ordinary cat."
