On earth, most living beings are human, and of human decent. Or they are animals of all species and breeds, or maybe plants and flora. That is all that humans know to live around them, and it is a supposedly proven fact until otherwise proven in a wide scale. If a few people had believed to have seen a beast with large pointy teeth with thick red goo oozing out of their mouth, they would be considered crazy and thought of as a hippie or 'one of those people'. The truth is, supernatural beings (if that's how you want to refer to them as) could exist. They are just so different to humans that people never think they would exist, because humans are considered the superior race, and something as bizarre as someone who can summon hellfire or eat someone's brain in an instant is considered a joke or a lie. Besides, humans are good at ignoring what they don't want to see.
That's how the supernatural would stay undetected in a cruel world. If they truly existed.
