Kassidy's Pov: I woke up on Thursday Morning LATE! I'm supposed to wake up at 5,get ready and drive to school and be there by 6:45!!! Instead I woke up at 7:00 to the sound of tapping on my window- it was a branch... And to make it worse today is our last cheer practice before the big football game on monday and IM THE CAPTAIN the very LATE captain! I grabbed a white hoodie, some leggings and put my hair in a messy bun. I grabbed my bookbag and threw my cheer uniform in there along with gum,deodorant,some hair ties,makeup,water bottle,my cheer schedule,some school books and pens and zipped that up fast then i threw on my converse and ran to the bathroom where i brushed my teeth as fast as i could then i ran outta there. I went outside and got in my car (white jeep) . I started the engine and it was making a weird sound. I kept trying and it kept making that weird sound ugh! My dad was at his job at the dentist office and my mom was at hers working at the preschool i had no one to take me....i had no choice...i walked ughhh it took my about 15 minutes and i got to the school i went to the front door and rang the bell i waited about 5 minutes no one answered...it was only 8:15 i mean...okay yeah i am pretty late but cant they still have the decency to open the door...i went around to the side of the building and looked through a window it was probably a freshman class i couldn't tell because it was dark (i'm a sophomore age 16). I looked through another window...dark and then another...also dark all the lights in the building were off but it is a school day...i got an alert that i was marked absent in homeroom...wait what the hell is going on i was about to go to the front and ring the bell again when i remembered the cheer manager told me how to get into the gym door from the outside of the school....i mean that's not too smart but i am the captain so...? I went to the gym door and got the key that was buried behind a bush and some rocks. I unlocked the door and held it open with a rock while I buried it back. I then tossed the rock and slipped into the school. I was in the middle of the gym. It was dark, very, very dark. I couldn't see anything..umm hello?? My voice echoed loudly i tiptoed around scared i would step on something i felt something pull my arm...i opened my mouth to scream- a hand went over my mouth and i was dragged into the sport supply closet
Kassidy:um..hello *whispers*
someone:Shhh...
Kassidy:w-what's going on...
Someone:there's an active shooter in the building-
kassidy:T-theres a what..?
Someone:*turns on light*
Kassidy:*rubs eyes*
Kassidy:do i know you..?
Someone:Probably not..Brandon*puts out hand*
Kassidy:*shakes it* Im Kass-
Brandon:Kassidy? Yup i know
Kassidy:Ok...? Um wait so are we on l-lock down...
Brandon:Yeah I'm afraid so..
Kassidy:*gets scared*
Kassidy:for how long...
Brandon:It's been like this for almost a half an hour..
Kassidy:oh-
Brandon:We were all just working and so the teachers saw someone in black wandering outside of the school and then someone let him in by mistake....there's been screaming...and many gun shots...
Kassidy*Heart pounds*
Kassidy:d-did they call the cops...
Brandon:i dunno..
Kassidy:Omg....what if we die or someone gets hurt or someones already dead-
Brandon:Stop...just calm down please we'll be fine
Kassidy:*eyes water*
Brandon:Hey....we will be fine they won't find us
Kassidy:I was being so loud...*starts crying*
Brandon:Shh...it's ok just relax..
*they huddle a little closer*
Kassidy:*takes out phone and texts her best friend Zoey*
Kass-Omg zoey where are you..?
Zoey-Kass omg im in the computer lab
Kass-Are u ok omg im so scared..
Zoey- Im fine im fine where r u???
Kass-i'm in the gym sport supply closet
Zoey-Me and 2 girls and a teacher are the only ones here we are hiding under the tables
Kass-i'm in here with some guy his name is Brandon i think...im so scared i was late and i was literally RINGING the BELL in the front of the school.....
Zoey-omg kass im scared....
Kass-me tjduhrzownwfrf
Kassidy:*drops phone*
Brandon:Did you hear that...
Kassidy:it sounds like footsteps..
Brandon:*turns off light*
Random:HElLo? AnYoNe HerE?
Kassidy:*Grabs on to brandon's arm*
Random:come out come out....
kassidy:*shakes*
Brandon:*rubs her back*
Police: Drop The WEAPON!
Brandon:omg..
*someone shoots*
Random:hah never!!
*the shooting continues with screaming back and forth until a bullet breaks the supply closet window and a second one shoots kassidy in the shoulder*
Kassidy:I- *falls*
Brandon:Kassidy! *takes off his hoodie as fast as he can and wraps it around her shoulder*
Brandon:Kass,...kassidy stay with me!
Kassidy:*crying* ow...
brandon: Don't worry i got you*puts more pressure on her shoulder*
*weird screaming sound comes from the gym followed by more shooting*
Kassidy:*starts closing eyes*
Brandon:No..stop kass look at me!
*the door barges open*
Police:*turns on light*
*kassidy is laying her head on brandons lap and there is blood all over them both*
Police:*says something on walkie Kneels down and takes kassidys head off brandons lap and puts pressure on her shoulder as she is slowly closing her eyes*
*ambulance arrives and kassidy is taken away on a stretcher*
