Akaashi shook his head and pulled away a bit. "No, I'm sorry you were right. I just didn't want anyone to take you away from me. I just didn't want to be alone." You smiled at him and rolled your eyes. "Of course, I'm right. I'm always right." Akaashi laughed and said, "the one thing I'm not letting up on is Bokuto." You rolled your eyes at him and smiled. "I don't get why you're suddenly not chill with Bokuto putting his arm around me." Akaashi sighed and started explaining.

"Because Bokuto likes-" He was mid-way through his sentence when Bokuto ran towards the booth. "Y/N, you found him!" He said out of breath. Akaashi looked up and smiled faintly. "You came here with Bokuto?" You scoffed and smiled. "How else was I supposed to look around the city for you? He's the only one who can drive." You said while smiling up at Bokuto. You could feel the thin cloud of pressure quiver over the three of you as you pulled him into the booth. "I called the whole team to go out and look for you... Actually, I think we need to go back to your place and gather the team." Bokuto said while shifting his gaze from Akaashi to you. "Yea, I think that would be a good idea." You said, nodding and looking over at Akaashi. "Well, actually. Are you ready? Or do you want more time alone?"

Akaashi sighed and looked up at you. You could see that he was tired and stressed. The last thing he wanted to do was go home. You smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "Never mind. We'll leave you to have some more alone time." You said while pushing Bokuto out of the booth. You waved at Akaashi, feeling that looming cloud start to dissipate. "I love you. See you at home." You said before turning around.

Bokuto looked down at your face and saw that your smile had disappeared. He frowned and waited until you both left the establishment. You closed the door to Bokuto's car and sighed. Give me five minutes. "Bokuto said before closing his car door and pacing outside of his car. You saw him pull out his phone and call someone. Instead of focusing on Bokuto, you let your thoughts wander while you laid your head against the cool window.

You took a deep breath inhaling Bokuto's cologne. On any normal day, you would never have noticed the small minuscule change in the atmosphere, but for the first time in what seemed like months, all the stress that was withheld and compacted deep inside your chest seemed to dissipate. His car seemed homelike and, to you, resembled a piece of what it used to be like before you got that phone call from the hospital. You felt tears well up in your eyes, and you turned to look out of the windshield. You saw Bokuto put his phone in his pocket and begin to walk back to the car. Before your brain could even process what you were doing, you unlocked the car door and stood up. "Y/N, what are you doing?" Bokuto asked as he stopped just where the road met the sidewalk. You felt your heart pounding in your chest, and your breathing become heavy. "Y/N-" Bokuto began but cut himself off when he felt you hug him. He took a step back but wrapped his arms around you.
