Dana's crush

THE INVITATION

Another normal day at school couldn't be much better. I got ready for school, grabbed an apple and dashed out the door. Mom had already entered the car, I joined her and she drove me to school.
"Mom, where is Lisa."
" Oh your sister joined Nicola ( her bestie who is our neighbor). "
Mom dropped me at school and I went in. I met Alison at my locker and we walked to class.
"Gurl. I heard Max is giving out birthday cards for his birthday tomorrow."
" Seriously? This is amazing. You just changed my mood. Yay! "

I saw Max heading out invitations the whole day but I hadn't received mine. I tried to wait patiently but it was almost last period and I hadn't received mine. I started panicking and over thinking. What if he doesn't want to invite me? Am I too weird?

All thoughts were interrupted by ...Max!!!
Max: Hey!
Me: Hi!*scared*
Max: I wanted to invite you to my birthday tomorrow. I know it's      a little late but I hope you can make it.
Me: Sure. I will be there*blushing*.
Max: Bye.
Me: Bye.

OMGOODNESS did Max just want me attend his party. I blushed so hard. Max left and I couldn't stop thinking about him. Alison came and I told her everything. She said that was what he was telling everyone. My mood changed and I started over thinking as I walked to the car. What if he doesn't like me?

All my thoughts were out to a halt by my sister, Lisa. Immediately she saw me she gave me the biggest hug a six-year old could give. I hugged her back mastering a fake smile on my face. Not that I wasn't happy to see her but Max's situation was still on my mind. We talked the whole way home, I tried my best to seem extremely happy but it wasn't working. Luckily Lisa didn't realise.

When we got home. I went to my room trying to look happy so nobody asked me what was wrong. When I went to my room and did my homework by the time I was done it was time for dinner. I went downstairs and we prayed and started eating the first few minutes were quiet until Lisa talked about her sleepover with Nicola. Everyone was talking but me. I ate my food as fast as I could, washed my plate and rushed to my room.

I realized that mom and dad realized I was sad but didn't want to stop Lisa from talking. By the time I had packed my bag for school and gotten ready for bed it was seven. I decided to scroll through TikTok before I sleep. I decided to sleep when I heard mom and dad putting Lisa to sleep. I knew they would come into my room after so I slept and when they came I was "sleeping" so they left me alone .

I couldn't help but think about to the party all night.
