Moving in with Dream wasn't as hard as I initially thought. I would've swore up and down that I was being invasive, and I was in the wrong.

For some reason, some cowardly part of me wanted to go back to being compliant.

At the time, I disliked that part of me, hated it really.

Now I know better.

It wasn't my fault I felt that way. It was how I had started dating. Freddie and his attitude was all I knew.

Even if I should've known better, I didn't and still texted Freddie that I was sorry for leaving. He left me on read like he usually did.

A section of my mind eased as I sat on Dreams couch fidgeting with my hands and curling and uncurling my toes in my socks.

Dream walked from the hall, slapping his hands together as if dusting them off even if there was no dust at all.

"Alright! You're all settled in and set up in my guest room. Hope it's comfortable." He said, standing awkwardly

I noticed he shifted often from foot to foot when he didn't know what to do.

A faint hollow smile appeared on my face as I rubbed my hands on my jeans and stood up.

"Show me?" I asked

"Uh- yeah! Sorry." Dream said, raising his hands before guiding them to the direction of the hallway

"You first, I insist your highness." He told me, staring with a mischievous smile

I hesitated as I thought if I should play into his fantasy.

"Thank you...my loyal guard." I said, voice fading away as his green eyes bore into me

I felt intimidated but not in a bad way. It was an odd feeling.

"What was that?" Dream asked cocking his head to the side smile widening

"Oh nothing." I said face flushing and feeling satisfied that he hadn't heard

He eyed me for a moment before following me to my temporary room.

When I stepped in I scanned the room and deduced that Dream liked what he liked.

He had an interesting taste but for as little time as I planned to stay here it would be fine.

"Well, home sweet home, I guess." He said, flailing his hands beside me

"If you need anything, my room is the last door on the left." He said

I nodded and set the bag I had been carrying down.

"Is Chinese takeout okay?" He asked, pulling his phone from his pocket

"Oh yeah, Chinese is fine!" I said

"Alright, what do you want?" Dream asked as he watched me

"Um, fried rice is fine, thanks." I told him sitting on the corner of the bed

"Sounds good. I'll get it ordered." He smiled happily before leaving the room

I collapsed backward on the bed and sighed. I guess I'd have to get used to this as much as I didn't like it.

About 20 minutes later our food arrived.

"Hey George, food's here!" I heard Dream yell

I had been browsing my phone doing random things to pass time. I stood up and set my phone on the desk and plugged it in.
