Staying Up for Christmas

"Maaaskyyy....why is it so cold? ;-;"

Mask chuckled a little, cuddling the squid that he had in his arms. Aloha shivered a little, but smiled, relieved to be in the cyan inkling's warm embrace. Mask had a small smile as Aloha started to warm up, the two hugging next to the fireplace.

This seemed like your standard couple's Christmas. The only difference between this and most cuddly relationships was that instead of legs, Aloha had a classic mermaid's tail. 

The two had met one summer after a storm, Aloha washed up on the beach. They had grown to communicate and care for each other, even finding a necklace that could give Aloha the ability to have legs for a few hours, yet it needed to be recharged every now and again in water. Sometimes, however, it just felt more right to be himself, the two exchanging affection that Mask would be too embarrassed to give in public. 

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. 

"Oh, I'll get it." Mask got up, only to smile from behind his gas mask. It was Team Cyan, who had come to celebrate the holidays with him and his mersquid boyfriend. Of course, the first face he sees being the smug and cheerful Luna, the two other teammates following right after.

Aloha chirped and waved at the three cyan companions, who had already known about the party animal's big secret. They had brought presents with them, looking like they had found the true meaning of Goggles's words that one day after the battle. They really do have fun nowadays. 

The day felt like it should've been much longer, like the fun would never end, but nevertheless the 5 cheerful squids had a blast, opening presents and eating all of the sweets that Aloha had made the previous day, soon charging his necklace that gave him the ability to have legs.

If only it could just be longer, after all... 

It was Aloha's first Christmas.
