Jeno stared at the necklace he just bought at the store near his favourite restaurant right after he had his lunch.
***
"What do you prefer?" Jeno stared at her.
"What?" she turned her head.
"Ring or necklace?" Jeno kept his eyes on her.
She chuckled.
"What? You want to buy me one?" Sierra, the girl who sat beside Jeno just asked the question that probably Jeno already knows the answer.
"No, why would I," Jeno shrugged his shoulder.
Liar.
He was about to.
"Anything," Sierra said.
Jeno turned his head.
"Anything that remind them of me," the girl smiled softly.
***
"Is there anything I can help?"
Jeno smiled at the staff.
"I want to buy something," he chuckled.
"Something that will remain forever," he added, as he looked around, finding things that reminds him of that girl he secretly falls in love with.
His eyes landed on a necklace, that was being placed in the middle of the store.
"It's called the Autumn Breeze," the staff said.
Jeno stood there in silence, without even approaching the necklace.
But the way Sierra's face appeared once his eyes landed on that necklace, tells everything.
"I want it, I want it wrapped neatly," he whispered under his breath.
***
"Sir, Lee Jeno,"
Jeno turned his head, it was Louis, his assistant. He immediately put the necklace back into the box and put it in his drawer.
"Yeah?"
"I don't know if you want to hear this," Louis seems a little bit off, it makes Jeno somehow frustated.
"Louis you know I don't like it when people don't have point everytime they talk about something, so what is it?" Jeno got up from his sit.
"Sierra, just sent you her engagement invitation."
***
Jeno has been sitting in that chair for almost all day.
"Jeno you should go home," said Jaemin, one of his co-worker who's now the general manager of his company.
"How?"
Jaemin sighed.
"Did you tell her?" Jaemin asked, Jeno shot his head up, "what do you mean?"
"Your feelings," Jaemin stared at Jeno.
"Did you tell her about your feelings, yet, Jeno?"
Jeno's face hardened.
Jaemin stood infront of Jeno's black desk. "Don't come at me by saying you haven't told her about that but you cry over the fact someone proposed her-"
"But the one who proposed, was Renjun," Jeno whispered.
Jaemin went silent, but still with his- uninterested in this situation- eyes.
"I should've known about that," Jeno added miserably.
Jaemin packed his things, "you should've known about your feelings first, Lee Jeno," he said, "I gotta go now- don't drink, I won't be there to drive you home," said Na Jaemin as he turned his back and walked out from Jeno's room.
Jeno was lost in his mind when suddenly his phone rang.
With Sierra's name on it.
***
"Am I late?" Sierra pulled one of the chair, as Jeno tightened his coat.
"No, no you're not," said Jeno, his hands were on his coat's pocket, gripped on the gift's box in which contained necklace that he bought for the girl infront of him.
"I got it," Jeno stared at Sierra who's now looking through the restaurant menu.
"Really? that was fast, I thought it will arrived in one or-"
"How?"
Sierra looked up at Jeno.
"How?" Jeno repeat his question.
"He proposed to me," Sierra whispered, Jeno stared at her.
"How in the world I don't know?"
"Jeno-"
Jeno took every air possible surround him.
"No, Sierra, I mean- You know, I thought I would be the one you will come to with this news," he chuckled, but everyone knows there was pain in his voice. "When will it be held?" he asked.
"Jeno I'm sorry I thought-"
"No, it's okay! Just tell me when and where," Jeno smiled slowly, but Sierra could see his eyes became watery.
"Jeno- We can talk about this lat-"
"I promised you already," Jeno cut Sierra's words.
"I promised you already, to stay, no matter what happened," he whispered, tears slowly falls on his cheeks.
And it was, the first time for Sierra to see Jeno cries.
"Just tell me," he whispered under his breath, with his hands under his pocket, holding onto the box he thought would be the chance of him to say everything that he feels about the girl.
"Next month," said Sierra, Jeno nodded his head, he slowly pulled the box out of his pocket an put it infront of Sierra.
"Yours," Jeno said, Sierra stared at the brown box.
"You said you want it brown, and necklace, was the one reminds me of you," Jeno whispered, he stood form his sit.
"I maybe, am, too late," he chuckled, but I hope the memory I came with this thing will remain forever," he opened the box, and stood behind Sierra, as he put the necklace on his neck.
Jeno sat back on his chair, as he smiled, looking at how beautiful Sierra is.
"Beautiful," he said softly.
"If only you were mine," he chukcled, Sierra touched the necklace. "I'm sorry," she said, Jeno shook his head, "don't be," he said.
"You deserve to be happy," Jeno smiled at her.
