Jade's obstructing me from killing the Raith's man, the harbinger of the ill-fated luck that has struck me. This boy needs to be killed, can't he see? His mouth's calling for it. First I am going to cut his tongue and then have him eat it. Won't let him close his eyes while eating the treat. I will make him savor every bite. I will not have it cut into small pieces. Big bites I will demand.

"Leave now. Are you blind? I cannot contain him for long, it's his brother's neck you are talking about. What do you suppose he will do to you. Whatever it is you think it is come out from it, believe me not the good thing man far from it. Run man, save your life, go", Jade spews some sense into him as I thrash and turn within his arms.

"Devan! You need to keep yourself cool while hearing this. Your brother's been found entering the Raith's premises. In plain language as you love- in front of the Raith's eldest daughter's room. In case you're wondering- 'Yes she is the one who's promised to the Clemment's'".

"I want to kill him", oh my,  my head has started pounding this boy will not stop until he's twenty feet under deep shit. How could he?  

"Not a chance, it would either be those Clemments or the Raith themselves who could be the one who has a real shot. So who with me in helping to arrange the funeral stuff?", yelled Jade standing up on his chair. He aggravates my nerves whenever he can. After I am done with Nashville, he is next on my list.

"Stop with the games", I whisper yelled. Yet I cannot undermine the explicit fact that my brother's life hangs on a thread. We need to be careful. 

These idiots. My blood is boiling seeing the stupidity as some others have also stood up to join the cause. They think they have a chance. I will deal with them later. 

"Line up our men. I need five of them to go with me, bring the best, and tell others to be on guard. I will go to Raith's premises and ask for him they cannot deny me. I am Devan Basil. If they do then they must know they are denying the Commander's son ", I put out my plan in front. 

" If need be we attack straight away. The message for men is to be ready for the kill. Go and send the message to all army chiefs", I order.

"We take the arm and ammunitions required", I demand. 

" That would be a sight to behold Commander's army attacking the First in line after the lost future Queen. No, you will not do such a thing. Not until your Father's back from wherever he is", voiced Maverick.

"Sir, I respect you, but they have my brother and for him, if I have to I must and I certainly will", I have respect for this man, he has fought beside my father and then for my father but no one can stop me from bringing my little brother back home where he belongs.

Maverick laughed a full laugh that echoed throughout the hall, "I am an old man but my years have only added to the wiseness, my lord. I have to admit I admire seeing the love you have for the bastard brother of yours but let not your love for him be the undoing of your empire. As far as his life's concerned, you can save it by using the Clemment's daughter as leverage".

 "But I myself have been promised to Faith. I have been promised to her ever since the day her father the late king died. The promise was made to him. And a promise to the king cannot be ever forsaken. What are you trying to suggest here?", I breathed out loud enough for everyone to hear.

"My lord the offspring was seen only by the Clemment's before she was lost. And everyone in the empire and ahead afar believes they have embellished the truth, the truth what others saw was different. They believe her to have died that day and not lost", explained Maverick.

" Whereas there's another news circulating my lord which says the quite opposite. The girl lives and is under Raelynn Clemment's protection ever since.  It's a win-win situation for you, tell the Clemments you wish to marry Alexandria Clemment, and want your brother back in return. She was the one you were supposed to be promised to and feels Faith's the reason for your and her's unrequited love. Her father will have to decide though. And our Commander's absence will injure his heart deeply because he believes him to be his dear friend", there was a light in my father's Righthand as he went on," But there's a catch, lord, Ryleigh Clemment will always choose his land and their men even on his own daughter, and if that's the case as we predict then he will have to let the kingdom behold it's lost, Queen Faith Valery Valacari".

I was wrong when I had thought there was light in Maverick's eyes. No, in his was a mere spark. But now what I feel inside I fear will set the whole kingdom ablaze.

"What of Nash then?", inquired Jade tensing seeing us power-hungry demons. He's scared and I find it immensely pleasuring. I surely enjoy people fearing me before I was a fool when I considered it out to be a shame. I have become something to be feared of. And I relish it. 

Maverick was going to explain when I cut in between-" Who will dare go against the Queen's husband? ", I turned and found every eye looking down even Maverick's. And my lips stretched into a big satisfying wicked deep smile. 

"No one ", I yelled my answer and it resonated with the authority of a King's. Nodding, I approved. I like it.

Let the conspirators have a taste of their own medicine, delighted I threw back my head and laughed. It was pure mirth.

I am trying to learn German on Duolingo at the moment because during Covid19's second wave that sounded as if to do the right thing.

I am enjoying german at the moment. It's a delight through and through.
